Hi all. Count me as also amazed that the Les Miz review got so much attention. But honestly, comments sections notwithstanding, I think it is because the media sees Adam as a superior vocalist--thus, it is news when he calls out the vocals on one of the biggest holiday movies. I think it's hilarious that so many people go around trying to put the guy down--seriously, I'd love to be living the life and making the money Adam is making these days. He seems to be doing just fine overall.
Also, the New York Times just posted a review of Les Miz today (see link below)--I wonder if it will go viral, as it specifically does call out Hugh Jackman's poor singing. Think the reviewer wrote this after seeing all the press Adam's tweets got?! When the NYT agrees with you, you're not doing too shabby.

I think this will end up being a PR bonanza for Adam--he usually comes out smelling like a rose, and this will be no exception. As long as he keeps singing, I will be a happy fan!
Hugs to you all!
The review that you posted is actually the second review of Les Miz that has been published by the NY Times. Today's review was written by Christopher Isherwood, who is one of their theatre critics. A review by one of the NYT movie critics, Manohla Dargis, was published on 12/24, prior to Tweet-gate:
movies.nytimes.com/2012/12/25/movies/les-miserables-stars-anne-hathaway-and-hugh-jackman.html?ref=movies&_r=0
Both critics say essentially the same thing: although there are some good performances in the movie, they both disliked the approach taken by the director to film so much of the movie in close-up, and both criticized much of the singing. Most of the fault lies in the choices made by the director, Tom Hooper.
And at the end of the day, IMHO, Adam was right.
