Americans are so far behind the time -- I, along with most of the press, use Vietnam vs. the preferred Việt Nam.
And I think most Americans do not even know the official name of the country: the Socialist Republic of Việt Nam (Cộng hòa Xã hội chủ nghĩa Việt Nam).

This is an interesting article that I haven't read. It's interesting because it emphasized the size of Adam "entourage". Most of Vietnamse artcles mentioned that there were 20 people in Adam's "entourage", which for them is a huge number. The thing is I don't think that it is 20 including Adam, and Aurea and the Korean singer also brought their own band and dancers but no one mentioned that at all. In this article they attributed the sucess of Adam's performance to his large "entourage". He's got his own band, b/u singers, dancers, technical people, his show must be perfect. Even Backstreetboys brought only 7 people (??? I think excluding the band itself - if so, it's a very odd comparision). And they say that one of the reasons for Vietnamese singers not delivering their best is because they don't have their own "entourage" like that. Even though they didn't have their facts right, the whole vibe of the review is everything about Adam's performance is perfect. They couldn't find anything to complaint, so they tried to find what made his show succesful. All good :-) I doubt Adam has 20, unless they are counting the Vietnamse CIA looking security brigade they gave him!! There were 8 of those! :4OMG: I count the band = 4 Adam & Sauli = 2 (and Sauli is hardly ever with Adam on these things. But who could resist Bali for NYE. Right?!) Dancer & VJJs = 4 Rob & Dana =2 Guitar techie =1 Soundman =1So I'd say 14 or maybe 15 if I missd a techie! Adam was very smart to have the dancers & VJJs for this show. As we know he doesn't always. The size of the show seems to have made a big impression!

Help me learn some English worlds please. I posted yesterday, but I don't think any one noticed it. - What is the equivalent English word that indicates the fashion style that looks shabby (for example torn, faded jeans), but still edgy. (this is the word Vietnamese press described Adam's airport fashion style) - what is the English word that describes something strange, weird, over the top but in a positive way? (this is how they refer to Adam's performance style) There are more, but they are off my head right now. I will ask later. Hope mods don't mind. Thank you. The two words that come to my mind are "grunge" for the shabby but edgy look, and "flamboyant" for the weird, over-the-top performance style. I may be totally out of it, though--maybe "these kids today" wouldn't be caught dead using the word "grunge."grunge came out of the Seattle groups of the 90s and the typical fashion is baggy jeans, white t-shirt and a flannel or plaid shirt. Adam definitly is NOT grunge. I think edgy fashion describes his casual look and his dressed up look. His stage look goes from Rocker to Glam. It may surprise you, but a whole lot of people dress the way Adam's casual look is in LA!

Those are not Glamberts, they were Idol fans. And they move on when the next season starts! Ahh, thanks. That makes a lot of sense. And I apologize for not being clear in my post. The high sales of FYE were definitely from Idol fans who never really became Glamberts. Go figure! :dunno: Of course some "Glamberts" probably lost interest because he was out of the spotlight for so long. They were obviously not as committed as we are! :D

Thank you belle for your postings of commentary/photos/links of Viet Nam coverage YW! I am done now with my primary bookmarks. A bit late but there were so many (and some certainly were duplicates). I will still be enjoying the great material from Vietnam during the week - maybe (re)posting some adorableness too. Thank you belle!
