Yes, I agree worldwide sales of Trespassing are likely to be heading toward 400K -- around 350K - 375K but just a guess. And the album will keep selling for a long time. If it ends up at 500K worldwide, RCAs wholesale revenue should be around $3.5 million. Less variable costs, duplication, packaging, distribution and so on, that leaves about $2.5 million. Throw in the plus income from ancillary revenues and track sales, probably technically in the red because of admin and O/H allocations, but I bet this project will cover all direct costs including promo expenses and deliver a net contribution to RCA. Can we change the wording of the photos to "taken" because the other word just freaked me out in addicted's post! :-/ 1) candid taken by paps outside a club. Maybe even tomorrow at Mr Blacks! 2) Music & movies (although I have no idea how we would know this unlees he tweets about it) 3) He will hav the stubble back and be wearing black 4) NYC Change made. :dunno: what was I thinking!!?!?!? And for 4. I also like #4 but I think for meetings with RCA/management.

It has been said on this board that the trend is the number of album sold will be declining. If that is the case, what will be the new business model for a record company do you think? The old (or maybe existing) model is the record label spends on making a new album, promoting and marketing and distributing it. They will get returns from the sales of the album, merchandise, and what else?

Posted this in numbers but thought I'd put it here too. The Soundscan year end list posted at UKMIX gives us the sales total for Trespassing as of the end of the calendar year. 179 RCA LAMBERT*ADAM TRESPASSING 173,639 Only 10 albums sold more than 1,000,000 Only 43 albums sold more than 500,000 Only 118 albums sold more than 250,000 Still below the debut week of FYE, where are the glamberts? I can't believe anyone who has fallen in love with Adam can abandon him at some point. I don't think he's been abandoned by "glamberts". Many of us bought multiple TSP albums originally and I know I for one can't justify buying more - even for Adam. And what good would it do for "US" to buy more? He needs new fans. He's been getting that internationally but I'm not sure how he's going to increase his fanbase in the US in any meaningful way though without more promo. I really hope he can get some good TV gigs SOON because to wait until he has something to promote (many months?) is too long out of the public eye imo. I saw a tweet yesterday that said something like "I'm not an Adam Lambert fan but I saw his promo video for AI12 and I never realized he had such charm". Paraphrasing. Even if he doesn't actually perform on a TV show the charm will bring them in.

I know when you see someone like XTina selling like crap or KE$HA, who had a #1 single & she released during one of the highest selling weeks of the year, barely beating out Adam's opening week, well the labels are in trouble!

The last time (Dec. 22nd) I checked, the unofficial estimated worldwide total sales for Trespassing was 309,000 copies sold, according to Media Traffic.
By now, it could be somewhere around 311,000 but due to the holidays, I haven't seen the latest updates yet, except for the top 40, maybe later this week...

I am going through my bookmarks of Vietnam press of the gig. I believe at least some of these have not been posted. Many use photos we have seen, some are new, I think. Maybe you want to join me in enjoying the great coverage. The ones that went in droves to the AI tour and bought up FYE when it was released. We did see a huge difference in first week sales for TSP vs FYE. I do ponder if a TSP tour would have the same attendance as GNT in the US.

I wonder how much Spotify, Rhapsody and the like are adding to the labels bottom line? Can they help make up for the lack of CD sales in any significant way?
