I don't think he's been abandoned by "glamberts". Many of us bought multiple TSP albums originally and I know I for one can't justify buying more - even for Adam. And what good would it do for "US" to buy more? He needs new fans. He's been getting that internationally but I'm not sure how he's going to increase his fanbase in the US in any meaningful way though without more promo. I really hope he can get some good TV gigs SOON because to wait until he has something to promote (many months?) is too long out of the public eye imo. I saw a tweet yesterday that said something like "I'm not an Adam Lambert fan but I saw his promo video for AI12 and I never realized he had such charm". Paraphrasing. Even if he doesn't actually perform on a TV show the charm will bring them in. I think Soaked may be referring to original "glamberts".. The ones that went in droves to the AI tour and bought up FYE when it was released. We did see a huge difference in first week sales for TSP vs FYE. I do ponder if a TSP tour would have the same attendance as GNT in the US. Those are not Glamberts, they were Idol fans. And they move on when the next season starts!

I love the way this one line completely explains why Adam's shows are so special!
Funny, friendly and open, Adam virtually eliminated the gap between the stage and the audience.

Where can I look up how close is FYE to being platinum? I don't know where to find the data. :-/ According to the Numbers thread, the most recent U.S. sales numbers that we have for FYE are from 8/2/12: FYE: 843, 230 Glam Nation Live: 49,760 atop.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=numbers&action=display&thread=1290I doubt that FYE has made platinum (1 million copies sold) in the last 5 months. However, it is likely that GNL is now gold (DVDs need only 50,000 to hit gold status). Hope this helps.
The RIAA certification is based on shipment so GNL is GOLD already, despite it has not been officially certified, yet.
Also, the worldwide sales for FYE according to RCA's past press release, is somewhere close to 2 million, or is a little bit over 2mil?

Hollywood Style Scene | Best of 2012 More Than Just Some Music That We Used To KnowSure there was lots of new music to get into this past year... from pop trash we liked in spite of ourselves (Carly Rae's Call Me Maybe, everything FUN and LMFAO put out) to hipper than thou indie releases by acts we should've/would've liked if we simply wanted to appear cool (Grizzly Bear, Ariel Pink's Haunted Garage) to artists we're still not quite sure how we feel about (Lana Del Rey, Die Antwoord)... 2013's music had some highs and lows alright. We loved Fiona Apple, Frank Ocean and The Black Keys offerings but we were less than impressed by all the music by the over-exposed acts on this list... Ultimately, it was seasoned artists we've loved for years that got our attention in 2012 and are primed to continue doing so this year. Here a list of music makers we couldn't ignore.4. ADAM LAMBERT - A hot new dance album, hosting VH1's Divas and an appearance on "Pretty Little Liars"... The Glamberts got gobs of their hero this year and they loved every minute of it. So did we. I'll bet FYE is platinum, can't imagine it wasn't shipped with that many copies. But for some reason, Adam or RCA is not into US certifications! Ya, I know, the meme is that it is expensive to certify, but IMO, the PR and bragging rights would make it worth it! BTW, a reecent PR vid I watched for something in the past month (maybe it was Hennessy?) said over 6 million in sales worldwide. Of course that is both albums and all tracks combined

All true, of course, but albiku was asking about platinum certification for FYE, and since there is no worldwide platinum certification number, I gave her U.S. data. However, this wikipedia article has gold/platinum certification for FYE for several countries (although some of the sales numbers are out of date): U.S. - gold Canada - platinum Australia - platinum New Zealand - platinum en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adam_Lambert_discographyI'm thinking that FYE may have reached gold or platinum status in a few other countries (maybe Finland?). We probably have that info somewhere in an old Numbers thread, but I don't have the time to look right now. This is probably more info than albiku wanted -- but at least we are trying to be thorough!

NewNowNext | 5 Stars We’d Like To See Host ‘Saturday Night Live’ In 2013
Since we have to wait another two weeks for a reason to cancel our Saturday night plans and keep our booty calls out in the cold, here’s a list of other stars we’d love to see grace our screens on SNL this season.
1. Adam Lambert The bona fide diva is no stranger to comedy (check out his video from the Jay Leno Show!) and we’d die to see him take on Stefon during Weekend Update or join Kenan Thompson for a very kiki-edition of “What Up With That?”! Judging from the shows Adam has done so far in the States, albeit not many in this era, I think he could easily have a GNT size tour in the US for TSP. Maybe some of the Idol fans have moved on, no surprise there, but lots of new fans have come onboard and the old ones are still flocking to his concerts...you can't really judge or predict concert attendance based on album sales.
Frankly, Adam is wrapping up the TSP project and very likely getting ready to start the creative process for album 3, and so much has been said and discussed about TSP era: sales, radio, promo, label, etc. here in the main thread and more intensively and extensively in the numbers thread, it's done! It's not a mega commercial success, a success in its own right, nonetheless. I, for one, am very much looking forward to the next, while enjoying what's left from TSP!

I set my DVR to record VH1 Divas on Palladium Wed and just before that at 1pm EST is Adam Umplugged in New York.
