Just read the Oscar nominees. Tom Hooper wasn't nominated for best director. Hugh and Anne were nominated, but Russell was not. Hope Lincoln sweeps. I loved that movie. Don't forget that now there can be up to 10 Movie noms. This year there are 9. But there are still only 5 diretor noms. So, since this change, thre will always be director's not nominated, whose movies did get a nom. I was sad to see Ben Affleck snubbed. ARGO was one of my favorites of last year. But I do think Lincoln will get the bulk of wins anyway.

Please do not be mad at me that I show this video to you but this is one of my favorite groups (the few I have), which I loved as I was young, and I admire and listen to them today.
This song is beautiful and very moving. I heard it thousands of times and each time I have tears in my eyes. We all should be brothers in arms.
As I watch and admire those artists, that I see the elderly Adam in this way on the stage. I am proud to know him and proud to have him in my heart.

I have a question re the twitter party because I don't understand one phrase! And unfortunately there are so many different German translations for it in the internet that I don't know what it means in this context! :dunno: When someone asked Adam for which role he auditioned in "Glee", he answered "Finn - haha, def a stretch". What does "def(initely?) a stretch" mean? ??? Thanks in advance!

Both Eric Clapton and Mark Knopfler (with his current band not Dire Straits) have played here in the NW and I have been fortunate to see them each time. One of my sons is a Knopfler fan-atic as I am a Lambert so I always have his music and new info. Very very talented dudes ! We are all so lucky to have wonderful musicians to enjoy.

He would not have been suited for the part of a high school student. The really funny thing about that though is that even though the actor that got the part (Cory Monteith,) looks young he is actually the same age as Adam, born in May of 1982!

The word stretch is used to mean there is a lot of distance between the actor and the role he his trying out for. It is often used in a somewhat negative way. "Adam Lambert as Finn, now that's a real stretch."

betty, I never realized how many English idioms use the word stretch....
"by any stretch of the imagination"
"not by any stretch of the imagination"
"in the (home)stretch"
"at a stretch"
"stretch a point and stretch the point"
"stretch the truth and stretch the point; stretch it"
and so on.....
It is a very confusing word.
I learn so many new things every day!
