Internet radio really does matter -- 40% of radio listening is now on the Internet. Probably a lower percentage in the UK but all I have is a global estimate. Terrestial radio does broadcast on the web too. I am therefore not too sure that entire 40% is strictly just for web radio. I doubt that though since I'm yet to see any star that was made as a result. Yes, off course. But I was not counting that. Here is the number for 2011 -- In 2011, one-third of all Americans (34%), or 89 million people, said they listened to either streaming of AM/FM stations, Internet-only services, such as Pandora, or both in the previous month. Link: stateofthemedia.org/2012/audio-how-far-will-digital-go/audio-by-the-numbers/More important, it the increased role of digital media in music discovery. From November 9, 2012, Link: www.marketingcharts.com/wp/topics/entertainment/internet-radio-audience-grows-less-listen-to-music-on-cds-24655/ Also streaming media use is now huge and is now an important part of artists' revenue. Here are some numbers for Pandora: blog.pandora.com/pandora/archives/2012/10/pandora-and-art.html Pandora makes over $100 million a quarter -- and artist get a small share. The pie is small compared to traditional radio, but it is growing very fast: news.cnet.com/8301-1023_3-57529137-93/pandora-offers-song-and-dance-about-music-sales/There are many other major streaming media sources -- AOL, Spotify, etc. It is an important part of the music business and now a bigger source of revenue for artists and labels than radio. In the US #2 to recorded music sales. In China, Spain, Sweden and many other countries it is #1.

I'm not esl but I'm having a difficult time figuring out what you're trying to say now that you've joined us?? Seems you're not happy with RCA promo, web radio playing Adam, Adam fans listening to web radio that plays Adam, and various other things. Can you share with us something you DO like about Adam? Can you point out which of my posts you don't understand? Thanks. As for what I like about Adam, care you to search for my twitter account ( I use the same name and I'm twitter friends with some fans on this board)? For someone not to like fans being so giddy about hearing Adam on a web radio station or disappointed with how he was promoted by his label does not equal to the person being a hater. I hope you are not one of the glamberts that like just the fans that think like you? Just a reminder: There is NO right way to be a fan on this forum. And no discussion of the right way to be a fan is allowed here.[/color] I am not deleting the quoted post or response but I am stopping this discussion. All future posts on the subject of the "right way to be a fan" will be deleted. Please refer to the ATOP guidelines or PM me if you have a question about this comment. We only have a few rules here but this is one of those rules.

Random question. lol Before Idol, when Adam was the understudy for the role of Fiyero in Wicked, who was the main Fiyero? ??? Adam was in the 1st Natl Touring Co in 2005. I think there were a couple of diff ones. I can check. Adam Pre-Idol atop.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=preidolperformances&thread=21&page=10Adam was in the LA sitting company 2007 -2008. Derrick Williams was Fiyero in LA. This is one playbill. Wicked ~ Pantages Theatre Playbills Page 14 Page 15 Sorry, not sure how to cut this down. But do you notice how different Adam is among all these headshots? More intense/ferocious. Very cool :-)

I am curious to hear if there is something you like. Be it Adam, being a fan or interacting with fans. Do share!

Guys , Adam said he had ideas for album 3 . Shosh said he is with RCA . Adam is with DMG . Nothing to worry about here . BUT : There must be a reason Adam parted ways with 19R . A reason why he didn't renew the contract with them . I don't know anything about this of course . But c'mon , think about it . Trespassing was Adam's "Dream Album" as he himself called it . He spent over a year working on it to get it perfect . Right ? Trespassing , as we all know , came out PERFECTLY done . With PERFECT songs . But he didn't put out the right singles . HIS songs . the songs written by HIM . First a Dr. Luke Ballad BTIKM , then Bruno's NCOE . You think it was HIS CHOICE ? I don't think so . If I were Adam I would have liked to put out MY OWN SONGS . The singles failed , and it made the album fail too . Even though it was Number 1 on billboard . I don't know , but I think this has to do with Adam parting ways with 19R . Adam left them . Anyways these are just my opinions .

I'm actually bad at understanding too many figures in a document like this (poor maths skills), but I do have an idea of what you mean. Judging from the fact that the artists that get heard on terrestrial radio like Rihanna, Bruon and co always top the most listened to artists on Pandora and all those internet sites still say something about most listeners discovering new music from terrestrial radio stations and they then make their pandora or streaming etc playlists based on that. I still therefore think that strictly internet radio do not make music stars. You know what I actually crave for? It is for radio ownership to be evenly distrubuted and not just owned by 5 companies like it is today. That current monopoly isn't just healthy. How I wish the gay community or a powerfully rich gay person could buy over one of the radio corporations to promote gay singers snubbed by the coglomerates?
