Grinch, here. Am I the only one who thinks that's a mom-fan orchestrated vid of little girl in order for MOM to get to meet Adam? I've seen many cases where moms bring in pix their kids have colored in scrapbooks, etc, to get Adam's attention, cuz who's going to turn down a little kid? Also the mom should be saving to send to art school if her 7-yr old drew that pic of Adam. No offense meant to those who think the little girl is darling, really bullied, etc. You could be right. It doesn't pass the smell test for me. ??? I am going to like pro boards right now to cleanse my palette. So you think that the girl didn’t draw the pic of Adam by herself. I’m even more impressed with her English speaking skills. You don’t think that someone else is also talking and singing in that vid, do you? ??? I think that she is a very talented girl and after reading her mother’s tweets (many of them are in Finnish) I don’t think she is using her, though she seems to be an Adam fan as well. She wrote i.e. this too: “The sad part of this is that she knows that she maybe never meets Adam, but still she wishes that Adam would know how she feels about him.”
Ps. We don't have to be saving in Finland to be able to send our children to various schools. Our educational system guarantees equal possibilities. Music is so bonding. The minute I see my almost 3 year old grandson, he runs over and wants to cuddle up to me and watch Adam Lambert videos. Yes, this is because I love Adam, and my grandson loves me, and this is one of "our" activities, since his mom is just a casual fan of pop music, like I was pre-Adam, lol. However, these days my grandson only wants to watch and listen to AL. I have other music vids by other artists that I watch, but whenever I try to get him to watch one of those with me, he only wants to watch Adam, and he watches his music videos as intently as I do, lol.... Total focus. Now he sings along to the songs as well. I think he shares the obsessive gene,

Sorry for being a little OT. RL sucks big time :( - the last straw tonight being when kid (sick fourth time for the last three months) had informed me at 1 am that he swallowed a coin! I was caught between laugh and cry and hid in the Adam's world from everybody, managed to listen to all favourite AI performances and found these awesome words in some journalist' recaps: ...(Jamie Foxx) treats Adam properly, to a fault, like he took a class in properly responding to Adam. Which I feel like we should all take... He just treats him like the most amazing thing he's ever seen, which is exactly how you should treat someone like Adam, because it's what they deal best with, and Jamie does it awesomely, just struck wordless the whole time, and laughing hysterically at the end by how easily Adam made all those sounds in front of him. Him! Oscar winner!
...and then right when he's done singing, as usual, he goes from a snarling Kenneth Anger movie death goddess person to just like this nice boy. That little moment where his eyes clear and he smiles, that's become my favorite part of the show each week, because you remember you're allowed to breathe and that all of this is just pretend. It was painfully short. I just remembered why I like him so much...Just had to share it with you :-[

Albiku - I'm always coming in a little late as topics keep zooming ahead of me, but I've been thinking about you today getting ready for your first live Adam concert. Way back earlier in the thread someone mentioned about an Atoper with hearing problems. Well, that may have been me as I lost a good bit of my hearing due to a virus over 10 years ago, but this hasn't stopped me from enjoying and loving Adam. Also, there has been some discussion about the "chipmunk" or "helium" effect at Adam's concerts. I've been to several of his concerts, and maybe because my hearing isn't so good, this hasn't affected me; however, during the GNT I was bothered by the opening acts, especially Orianthe - just way too loud for me - so I just blocked out the sound there. But not for Adam - I heard the whole thing. The first Adam concert I ever went to was Gridlock and at that time I didn't know what to expect at all. One thing that I did notice is that his speech and singing were a little higher pitched than I was expecting, but you adjust to that very quickly. The big things about experiencing him live are his voice and his charisma. His voice is amazing - so clear whether belting it out powerfully or bringing it in softly. His voice has a clear bell-like tone that needs to be heard live - I've never heard anything quite like it - I describe it as an "angel voice" from somewhere else. I also love hearing his sound checks, and once I was lucky enough to hear one live when waiting in line for his Jimmy Kimmel performance - that strong clear voice just soaring out over the streets of Hollywood - magic! As for his charisma, he has a commanding stage presence and you are at all times focused on HIM regardless of whatever is going on around him. And he feeds off the audience response so there is always a give-and-take between you, the audience, and him on stage. He is doing what he loves to do. He absolutely loves performing on stage and you can't help but share in his energy and utter joy of performing. I'm excited for you, albiku, and all other Atopers who will be seeing Adam live for the first time in the upcoming weeks. And I will say, it will be truly an "experience", not just a show. Please share your stories - we will want to hear from you! I forgot to mention something about the chipmunk sound. I would not hear it in every song. In fact, if I remember correctly, on the Idol tour, I would hear it on Mad World, but not so much during the later songs. In fact, I never heard it on Whole Lotta Love. That's why I always thought it was a sound issue where sound engineer was making adjustments. Or it could just be the nature of the song.

It's what I've felt at the end of 'Soaked' when Adam sang it just over my head. I could see into his nose. I was that close. Realized I wasn't breathing. Wasn't blinking. I could have been turned to stone, but instead was clay; reformed; refashioned by a magician of music.

Actually I do not listen to radio. But starting today, I will be listening to energymusic radio as often as I could. Just listening to Underneath... so above the other music. And I am never a fan of rap .... unless Adam sings it... lol!

Yes. Just listened to Underneath. Underneath. Here in a warm room where the twilight lengthens. Of course I know all the words. Every word Adam has ever sung is memorized. Just now, I'm realizing he is not being metaphorical. He is being real, and he is looking me in the face and there, there it is. Is there any song more honest than this? For his experience in life? Oh - this man is bringing me home.

EW's article on the AI premiere said, " Fox’s American Idol has been largely on a downward trend since 2009 due to the reality mega-hit getting older and facing a broadcast landscape that’s increasingly crowded with singing shows. High-profile new judges Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban have made for plenty of fun headlines, but media insiders know they’re sandbags on the levy" I am happy I don't have to watch Idol this year, and glad Adam is not being mentioned as a "sandbag". I watched one of the audition rounds that was on last night out of interest. Is just awful - hardly any focus on good singers too much on train wrecks and Nicki Minaj or whatever her name is - huge egos around the table (well except for Keith)... just really bad.
