I'm alive. A nasty head cold had me down for the count but I'm seeing some light at the end of the tunnell. The feed a cold, starve a fever suggestions weren't the best for my weight loss battle.

Jablea ... glad to find you still here. I fell off the wagon about 6 weeks ago, had a couple of candy binges at Easter, and finally managed to climb back on about a week ago. Today I am a half-pound below where I was when I fell off, 38 pounds lost and 13 to go. I've decided it's time to add some exercise to speed up these last pounds ... I set up a TV in front of my Gazelle (an exercise machine) and now I watch a 45-minute Bones episode once or twice a day while exercising. I'm headed for the Quebec concert the end of July, hoping to get another 8 pounds off by then.

Tuesday Oops, I missed last week. I've changed the title again so that we can encourage people to lose for the Canadian concert.
My weight has stalled out but I'm in good spirits. Couldn't exercise for several weeks after the nose job and then that cold crud was gruesome. But everything is back up and running now. I'm getting in pretty good exercise but it's the food control I'm having trouble with. Not sure having the kid off for summer is good. Yep, always an excuse. I've got to do better planning.
Karen, I had a gazelle. My dad liked it but I didn't get anything from it. Do you have one that has some resistance? Congrats on your weight loss, I'm in awe.

Karen, I had a gazelle. My dad liked it but I didn't get anything from it. Do you have one that has some resistance? Yes, mine is the resistance model. I have a friend who has the simple one without resistance, and it doesn't appeal to me as much. Mine also came with some workout tapes, watching those helped me learn different ways to use different muscle sets. I can work up a pretty good sweat glow in 45 minutes! My weight loss has been a series of fits and starts ... I originally said I wanted to lose a pound a week, so I figured a year to get the 51 pounds off. Some weeks I've lost more than a pound, and some weeks I haven't lost anything, sometimes for several weeks in a row. But I'm still on target to have it gone at the end of August, which was the original plan. If I don't make it, it will be close. I really think the LoseIt program has helped, because it has me thinking in terms of weeks rather than days ... so I can splurge a little on one day and make it up in the following days, or save up a little so I can indulge without guilt. That is much better for me than thinking I have to be perfect every day! ;D So don't give up ... even tho' you've had a lull with your medical and health issues, you can get back on the wagon again ... it doesn't have to be an every day thing, as long as most days are good ones ...

Wednesday
Topic=Mangoes
I get my dried mangoes thru Costco. Dang good snack. The first several times buying them the whole family OD'd on them but we've learned to slow it down now.
We also really like fresh mangoes and my ds will ask special for them.

jablea, I love diced mango in chicken salad. (I use fresh or canned, not dried)
glad to see we have a new target date of Canada. I was afraid the thread had died out and I really need the discipline to lost a few more!

Wednesday Topic = Walking
thanks flowergirl, yeah I need some more disipline too. I'm not going to go to the concert because I have a family reunion at the same time. Anyway the deadline works for me. Another 5 pounds and I might be able to fit into some old clothes.
Going with the picture above () how much walking are all of you doing?
My dogs look so sad so I usually take them at least once a day. Last night I went about 3 times as far as I planned but a lot of it was where they could go off leash so they really enjoyed it.
I wish I lived near hills as that would really help but flat walking is good too.

Thursday Weight Loss Topic = Bike Riding
Poor dogs, while they do get walked pretty often (see above) they really miss it when I get on my better exercise hat and go biking. I read where biking is much more effective at working you out than walking. And I've got one of those new fangled bikes that sits you upright so hey, wind resistance is my weight loss friend. That's right, I almost never get to coast. I think I'm going to air up the tires on my old trail bike if I want to go farther and faster, lol.
Anyway, the dog kids do get to go around the block with the bike sometime but I have to take them seperately. I suppose I could ride with them in tamdem (dog, dog, me) like I do when we walk but I've had enough near tangleups with just one on the leash. I don't miss living near hills that much when I'm on the bike because it works me out all the time.
