I love Cyndi and Adam together, but what I really long for is a Pink and Adam duet.. To me that would be the ultimate :D Pink and Adam would sound great together. I know everyone really liked the Mad World with Cyndi but I thought she tried to out power him somewhat and didn't do a great job at it -- what was she thinking. I give Adam props for throttling back and letting her take over. I'm sure they'd work this out in the studio. btw, no diss to Cyndi -- one of my dogs is actually registered as "True Colours" if that gives you any idea that I'm a huge fan. I have nothing to base this on but I doubt that Pink would be too interested in singing with Adam. She doesn't need him. Has she collaborated with anyone else in the past? I was curious as to when she sang WWFM -- was it before or after Adam had success with it? I heard it after Adam's version so was wondering if she sang it after he did. ...... I liked his rendition better. I also love how he keeps changing it up. I don't know too many other artist who rework they're songs as much as Adam does -- maybe Paul Simon? I think Cyndi was having trouble hitting the high note and was trying to power through it. Don't think she was purposely trying to out sing him. Pink recently collaborated with the lead singer of FUN on a GREAT song, Just Give Me a Reason! www.vh1.com/video/misc/851245/just-give-me-a-reason-vh1-storytellers.jhtml

I wish that Adam never takes scissors and chops off all those rivulets, contours and ornaments of his that so lavishly fall outside the expected circle in order to fit; because his shape is that of a multi-pointed star and I see those points, embrace them and love him for them. The predictability of a circle is for squares. I want my sun to have rays.
ETA/ How redundant would it be now, on scale from 1 to 5, to say that I can't wait for Album #3? Squee!!!! Aleks, you outdid yourself this morning. What you have reminded us -- and kay said so well also -- is that Adam is an artist.
In my more rational moments, I realize that Adam is past the point of "lucky breaks." His entire package as an entertainer -- the quality of the singing, the emotion he is able to convey, his sense of what is current and fun, his ideas about sound and instrumentation, his growth as a live performer, his development as a songwriter -- all of this is the result of study, passion, devotion, and effort, not luck.
Recently I saw an unconventional definition of talent that made a lot of sense to me as regards Adam: talent is the ability to make the best artistic use of the resources available to you at any given time. In other words, talent is not a commodity that you spend in a vacuum, but an asset that you leverage. Adam has been learning to be the expert in his own abilities, the resources that are available to him at his current level of success and the state of the industry, and how they can be best used.
Used for what? To create something of artistic merit. Something that goes above and beyond what anyone else has ever done. Something never before seen or heard in this old world. That at least is what I dream about.

I wonder if Sonic the Hedgehog runs so fast cause like Adam he's running from his heart / feelings / etc. Food for thought I don't even know what this means. But, if you explain your thinking, I will give it some thought.

Just got to add that I am not big on a Cyndi Lauper recorded duet. Charitable great! But other than that what would it be for? A cover that he wowed with 3 years ago will not get him on the radio, and Cyndi Lauper will not get him on the A list. One offs for these duets are great but to market them seems odd to me. Just my opinion. I can't comment on the commercial aspect of things so I know I'm just being selfish here, but it would be so nice to have a version of their duet where I wasn't bracing myself for the part at the end. Cyndi's voice in their duet sounded so different from Adam's - husky, somehow fragile and emotionally delicate - which made for a great foil for Adam's clear tone. Um, until the ending, at least.
