I've always wondered what Adam was trying to say but couldn't quite get it in during Simon's rant...yeah, I was angry too. And I wasn't even a fan. Simon was vicious. But Adam DID go to Nashville after all, didn't he?..I love happy endings.. :D Yes, yes, Adam went to Nashville and he performed at the Ryman Theater. The Ryman is known as the "mother church of country music" and the home of the Grand Ole Opry.
Johnny Cash performed there until he kicked out the stage's footlights in a fit of rage.*Another version of the story is that Cash was angry about a microphone and took the mic stand and knocked out the lights .**
Still another story says he was high and/or drunk and passed out on stage that same night.
Anyway, Cash wasn't invited back.
Back to Adam:

Wow, these numbers you just posted are telling, very telling actually. Thanks for posting these
a) Everything you already mentioned about ROF.
b) All his calmer performances (TOMT, MW, IICHY) ranked the highest in approval and the lowest in deviation, meaning that opinions did not differ too much and they were liked the most.
c) It is surprising how little FG and ACIGC were liked, given that both have astounding vocals. Clearly that went over the head of the audience. Neither of these two performances are of the 'sexy scary' kind, but they both may have come across as theatrical and old-fashioned. Otherwise, I am not sure why they have such low approval ratings and such large deviation. Can't think of anything. Quite strange actually. I loved them both.
d) It clearly shows how the mat was pulled out from under his feet towards the end of the competition. In the last 2 weeks Adam had very little control over the music. He did not pic 'One', Simon did, and folks clearly did not appreciate it. He did pic 'Crying' and in hind-sight based on these statistics he would have been better off to choose a slow and emotional song again, rather than the one he did, but that is 20/20 hindsight. And then in the final week, he did not pick any of the songs and the two outside choices both pulled him down statistically.
Do you happen to have the same numbers for Kris? I wonder how his last few weeks were perceived and how the judges/producer choices may have hurt or helped him. Just wondering?

I do not think there is not anymore to the Believe performance. They only got to do a short piece at that point in the competition.
I love Adam's laugh around 8:45 after Simon says "it is not good news" and then after a very long pause, Simon says it is great news.

It's a beautiful thing. *insert happy tears smiley* (I tried to add a smiley, but it won't work. I can see them, but when I click on them, nothing happens.)

BUT high ratings do not equal winning. AND it is from the Idolsphere. Adam is ranked #12 of all time and the #2 ranted male contestant (behind Bo Bice who was quite good on Idol) www.whatnottosing.com/contestants.asp

ACIGC I've always liked but I've never really got Feeling Good. One wasn't the best choice either, I love the studio version but he tried to do it in a rocker style live and it just didn't work. Those numbers are pretty similar to my own rankings weirdly enough.
