And then Q3 calls me, and I'm fighting rush hour traffic and making absolutely no sense because I can't talk and dodge idiots in Hummers trying to broadside me at the same time. Sorry bb!!!!!! I got this strange phone call -- a "pocket dial" from a DC area code cell phone and called it back. I though it was someone calling the real me. I almost f'ing dropped the phone when you answered and call me Q3.  |

My Mama Kitty Jody (named after Jody Foster) died last night :( She was 14 - had her since she was a kitten - so today is not a very happy valentines day for me :((((((((((((( p.s. I do have 2 of her babies - they're sad too!

I am so sorry kapsiz. It is so sad when one of our beloved pets dies. They give us unconditional love.
My sister used to have cats and I remember how they grieved! Hugs to you.

Oh, Kapsiz - My condolences and my sadness and understanding goes out to you - - - and to all the Adamtopians who have shared their loves and their losses with us. Words fail me when I try to express the love I feel for everyone here; how we struggle together; how we come to terms with life and ourselves and this passion we share. I have a veeerry old Jack Russell terrier. Her name is Zipper, and she will be seventeen (!) on April 5th. I was searching for a puppy, years ago. When I saw the newspaper ad that stated her birthdate, I knew she needed to come home to me. She was born on the day my son died. Now she is very feeble. She cannot see or hear. But she knows when I am near. We have given up buying dog food; today I cooked beef liver (ugh!) and sweet potatoes for her, and she is still eating. Pleasure in living still exists. I watch very closely. I notice how she tries to run, with glee, when we come to her. How she snuggles into her favorite blanket. How she still marches out to the lawn to pee and bark a warning to the trees. I love her so much. She marks an anniversary in her life. And mine. Let this 'Valentine's Day' be one that might allow us both to see how our love and our kindness came back to us through the years. Through moments with family, friends, and beloved Jodys and Zippers. |
