My thought after the Grammy weekend is that I hope Sony doesn't stint on Adam's promo. I felt at Clive Davis' party that Janelle Monoe was promoted as Sony's shining new star, JHu is everywhere and Adam was kind of overlooked. Why wasn't he asked to perform at the party Sony may have pushed for Janelle to perform over Adam at the actual show as well, because she also had only had one nom and didn't win anything. Whoever Bruno Mars' management is, they are doing a stellar job and as much as Adam's fan base does to promote him and get his songs played, his management needs to step it up in 2011. Some of his songs would be perfect for Glee, how about guest performances on other award or talent shows, maybe some fashion spreads or magazine covers and so on. Thanks for posting this comment -- and I am certain that lots of Adam fans have similar worries. I am confident that when Adam has his new single out to promote, Sony/RCA will support him. But artists/labels save their big promotional push for major releases. Right now, it is important to Adam to focus his energy on his next album and to do just enough promotion to stay in the public eye. With the upcoming releases of the DVD and Aftermath, plus associated promotion, Adam has it just about right IMO. The Clive Davis party is not a Sony showcase. It is Clive's event. -- Janelle Monae is with Bad Boy records, which is part of Warners, not Sony. She put out an excellent album last year and should be around for a long time. -- J. Hudson has just released the lead single for her next album. So she is at her peak promotional effort. Not comparable to where Adam is on his album cycle. -- Bruno Mars has had an amazing year and the kind of sales he has racked up do not come just from promotion. His album is an international hit and charted #1 in 9 countries, #3 in US. His first two single have charted #1 in many countries including the US. "Just the Way You Are" is 3x platinum in the US. He is featured on two other 2010 singles -- another #1 international hit ("Nothin' on You") and "Billionaire" and a #4 US hit. That is 4 top 5 songs in 2010. No one loves or respects Adam's talent more than I do. (Although I agree that many are tied with me.) However, I think some perspective is needed... RCA did a brilliant job for Adam. Fans deserve a lot of credit for supporting Adam BUT RCA/Sony and 19 had to throw everything they had at WWFM to get it to #10 on the Billboard Hot 100 -- massive radio promotion, Oprah, Leno, Ellen, Idol performance, etc. I believe that the fan support was essential but don't discount the level of Sony support Adam got. I am usually not a fan of major labels and think artists are often screwed by them. But that is not always the case and Adam is one of the exceptions. JMHO. ITA. Perfectly analyzed.Everything you say makes sense. I would never blame his management.

Happy Valentine's Day to all of you.
Maybe we can get some things accomplished now in RL. Stanning is exhausting, but a good thing. I'm just struggling today. I too will moving to a new state and need to prepare my home for sale and find a new one.
Also had a laptop stored in a closet fall on my foot and I have an exceedingly bruised foot and two broken toes. Hobbling a lot.
I will remain optimistic. I like the leather concept. We will get nothing short of excellent.
We will look forward to every tweet and any sighting.
How many times has Meryl Street been nominated for an Oscar for unbelievably memorable performances and lost out to other performers. But she still get great movies and does her job exceedingly well. Adam was born to do this. (mantra, mantra keep saying it)

From what I have seen and read, RCA and Sony have been very supportive of Adam Lambert. They tweet about him, he is on the front page of their website, they release glowing press releases of his accomplishments. They have acknowledged Adam enough to make other fans of other artists jealous about his level of promo. Kesha's sales have been her best promotion. Janelle is truly talented and has received critical acclaim. I don't have any research or facts to support my statement, but I think most of Janelle's promo has been external to RCA/Sony. She has been recognized by critics and the media as a true innovator in music. I have too often read posts at other websites where fans bemoan the lack of label promotion of an artist as the reason for their artists lack of radio play, lack of TV performance, lack of sales, etc. I didn't agree with that reasoning when it related to other artists and I don't choose to agree with that as it relates to Adam. Adam has to put out the product that brings the public to him. So far he has been a hoopla magnet. RCA/Sony has been supportive. Adam/RCA have done well in the last year and have laid a great foundation for Adam to build on for Adam #2. Adam is an extraordinary talent, but the label should not promote him like a snake oil salesmen. I think the current level of label promotion is consistent with his acheivements thus far. And Q3, thank you for removing the smiting buttons.
