I don't think Adam cancelling makes him sound like a DIVA! Not with all the shadiness of these promoters well known! If I were to guess, I'd say maybe one of thsoe "prepayments" never got made! :( Adam Lambert – Adam Lambert Axes Philippines Gig – Pop star Adam Lambert has axed an upcoming gig in Philippines due to “unforeseen circumstances”. The former American Idol contestant was due to perform at the Skydome venue in the capital city of Manila on 1 March (13), but he has now cancelled the show and fans are being offered refunds. Oops..sorry...I didn't read this press release. By diva-ish, I wasn't clear. The press loves to make an artist sound too puffed up about themselves, ya know? 'now Adam Lambert has started canceling concerts'.... I's innocent, I tell ya. I know Adam's work ethic. He might have but it could also be a press spin...Adam isn't playing Manila. That we know. The rest is...  IMHO,Adam would never cancel and disappoint the fans ,if there wasn't the best reason in the world to do so. This is a man who never missed a date in 0ver 100 GNT performances. only missed one radio interview because of throwing up with some type of stomach virus. |

The one thing that bugs me about all the news coverage of Adam singing STAY is that it took a song (just released by a major pop star) to get the presses rolling. What? Is everyone suprised that Adam can sing?? I don't understand what is newsy about him covering this song....I'm glad he's in the press but I just don't get it. My 2 cents: Adam's own songs are adamazing as they come, so it is not possible to realize how good he is by comparing his voice to something else. Plus nobody knows most of his songs (thanks, radio!), so posting about how good Chokehold or BE was live would be pointless. When he covers a song everybody knows (thanks again, radio!), people suddenly realize he sounds better than the original artist, especially live. Which for anyone who is not an AFL stan is probably a shock. For some reason, people like Rihanna (her music is banned in our house because my wife hates only two sounds - the scratching of a fork on the inside a metal pot, and Rihanna's voice), so it must be strange hearing Stay sung right. Art is subjective though, and I am one year older than I was yesterday, so I am probably just grumpy. Also, last night I had a nightmare in which I hated Bieber, and when I woke up I realized it wasn't just a dream. |

I think you make a lot of sense.
Regarding Adam's "Stay" cover making news -- we follow Adam and we were all amazing how wonderful he sounded. So why shouldn't this be news to people who do not know him as well?
Frankly, Adam re-energizes ever song he chooses to sing and he picks excellent songs. And it will continue to be news when he puts out a great cover performance. "Stay" is a beautiful song made more beautiful by the color and emotion in Adam's voice.
Great opera singers become famous singing classical music -- can you imagine someone complaining that XXXdiva did a cover of Verdi?
The only time I would ever complain is if Adam did a cover this wonderful and no one except for core fans heard it.
