Just saw this on weibo, I had to share it with y'all, made by @阿汤_trespassing: Now this is something I don't think Adam would need a teleprompter to sell..

With that backdrop, it does look a bit better, perhaps the youtube we saw is not the final take. What does surprise me a bit is that this is not the first time that Adam has done a commercial and why are people not giving him the time to absorb the text first. He is a brilliant interpreter. But doing so, assumes you know what you are saying and not reading it off the prompter for the first time, which is what this looks like. Anyone remember that Go Green commercial that he had to do as part of AI? It was kind of comical how non-convincing Adam sounded at the time and somehow here 4 years later he has to read an unfamiliar text off a teleprompter and uses a similar intonation. I think he needs to be given a bit more time to work things out, because I don't think this is what he wants either. Perhaps they record a few more commercials while he is in China. Who knows. I just googled the Go Green commercial, but nothing seems to come up anymore, or I could not find it. In the end I want for Adam to make enough money that he can secure his future, do his art live for his audiences using the wardrobe and any staging as he likes it, and be happy. That's my real wish for him. Long-lasting and continuously successful career, where he gets to make his own artistic choices. Of course, on a very petty and selfish note, I also want him to make enough off this game that when Forbes in May publishes their May 2012 - May 2013 numbers, he is up in the top together with Kelly and Carrie and miles ahead of the rest of the pack of WGWGs and then I'll just sit back, have a popcorn night and read the usual blogs that are entertaining in such moments. Between Queen tour, one off concerts, DIVAs, PLL, Asia Tour, Hennessy endorsement and now this one for RIFT, he should be having another really good year. Oh, yes, he also released an album too, but as it is, this part will be the smallest contribution to that bottom-line. What a sick kind of business the music business is these days. I am glad that Adam has much more income streams other than being a recording artist. And hope this Singapore concert goes off without problems. Crazy stuff. And Addicted, I so feel your pain? Are you saying, they took your ticket and you don't even know whether they will refund your money? :-/ Sounds like they are corrupt on top of incompetent. Hope you can get your refund for your ticket worked out. Were you thinking of one of the Ford commercials? (I need more clues, if it's not.)

Something to amuse you while we wait for the next concert. I was telling a friend about WGWG and wanted to show how similar the past 5 Idol winners were. Looking at examples on YT, I stumbled across David Cook singing the National Anthem. Aha! What a perfect way to compare and contrast the "winners" with AFL. (One of these things is not like the others.) So, for your entertainment: Cassie, I was amused. That was an interesting exercise. .... ETA: Now that I read this again and added Scotty's name, I realized how none of these other guys is a great singer. Interesting for a singing competition. It is really obvious to me when listening to them all back to back. Listening to the winners of the last five seasons, my reaction varied between "Not too bad for someone who is not a singer" to "Ooooo, yikes! Not good." There are certainly guys in my community chorus who can sing circles around them. THESE were the voices that the producers put thru the auditions? THESE are the voices that America's voters liked the best? Huh? Singing the national anthem a cappella is a sure test of someone's singing talent. Then, there is Adam. While the others were prepared to sing the NA, rehearsed it, warmed up, etc., Adam did it on the fly. The folks at the base asked if he would sing something. He didn't have anything prepared, didn't have any backing track, but the one song he knew he could do off the cuff, a cappella, that would work there was the NA. Okay. Stand up. Take a breath, and GO. Out comes this beautiful, moving, amazing version. ILHSFM.

Got a quick question for moderators, please. Where are we supposed to put quotes and articles about Adam coming from celebrities? I found the thread called 'People talking about Adam', but it has only about 3 posts and some of them are from other fans. Is there a parallel track that I should be using and have not found yet for people in the business or for celebrities or is all together in one thread? I have presently an article about Gary Jules talking about Mad World (4 years old article) that actually I personally had never read and yesterday I fell over some quotes from Billie Joe about Adam that I had seen before and I just would like to drop them off in the right location as I find them. Secondly, it would be really great, if such a thread had some kind of register/index. Because once it has a good amount of pages it is not easy to see whether something has already been posted without reading all the pages first. Index needs to only have the name or group that is quoted and on what page the actual post is made. I'll be glad to help with this, btw. Could pm the updated index to moderator or something along those lines, if that was wanted. Thanks I started a thread called "what they are saying about the vocals", where folks have posted quotes from various celebrities about Adam's singing. Go to the Salon, go to people are talking about Adam, and it is a sub thread. Here is the direct link: what they are saying about the vocals

A quick drive-by post before heading to the studio.... There is no voice-over in Chinese commercials starred by foreign celebrities, especially when they speak English (English is a standard curriculum in China from first grade on), although, sometimes there're subtitles. In this case, it's all Adam and other two's original talking voices, from the reports on weibo of those who have already seen the TV commercial. Not sure what you exactly meant by the "silly script and considered audience" comment, I'm guessing you didn't mean to insinuate anything to do with the intelligence of the Chinese gamers or the gaming company's marketing strategy. This mega lucrative business in China is no joke, I can assure you. It's a commercial, not an Adam Lambert photo shoot or MV production, he got paid a ton of money to follow instructions and read a script, not to mention the future potential involvement with the company if RIFT does become a WOW in China. Yeh, silly script and considered audience was an intentional slam on any and all gamers and the gaming industry........come on! I spent years in Bangkok and Hong Kong and know that in the years that I was there commercials and such were made with an outrageous sense of humor. I thought Adam was funny and I thought his actions may have been intentional for all kinds of reasons but none of my comments in any way shape or form were meant to be a slight in any way. I game, my friends game, game on! Indeed, silly, corny commercials are everywhere and every industry, definitely a bit more humorous and outrageous in Asia, I'll have to agree with you... In comparison, Adam's little vid is pretty tamed and straight up, and apparently it's been drawing attention already. "We All Game!" (using my Stepford Wife voice )
