Note: not one comment about their singing/performing talent. Hmmmm.. As to Adam not-Lambert, lots of pitch problems and uneven switching from chest voice to a weak falsetto... and I could go on. But, honestly, he is no worse than many other pop singers today. Adam Lambert is the outlier. He's the one that doesn't "fit" with the current type of voice that is playing on the radio. Can you name me even ONE male singer popular today who has a really good voice? Not at AFL's level, of course. But, just a good voice, a voice that is better than anyone in your local high school or church choir. I'm coming up blank. That was what really pi$$ed me off about the WGWG singing the NA that I posted yesterday. NONE of them sounded great. I wouldn't even go as far as to say they sounded "good." The sponsors could have gone to any local high school in the town and asked for a singer from their music department, and gotten a better rendition. No, I am not holding the WGWG or the pop singers today to AFL's standard. That is unreasonable. But, shouldn't they at least be better than who you can find singing in the lounge of the local Holiday Inn for happy hour? |

I FINALLY finished the thread. What a wonderful day at Atopia...so much Adam beauty and Chinese fan's love! Thanks to all who brought over all the tweets, pics, and vids!  Adam's charisma was overflowing on that stage and the Chinese fans embraced every bit of it! By the tweets, it sounded like the energy level in the stadium was about to go through the roof! Seeing this just made me feel so happy. Shanghai appreciated the 'magic' of Lord Dang! 8-) Chinese fans....  |

There was a story from when Adam was on Idol where he used "freak of nature" when talking about his voice. I don't know whether it's true, but it is why I think he is, also, talking about his vocal ability. The story goes something like this: Adam was reassuring Kim Allen (Kris' mom) that he (Adam) and Kris would be the final 2. He explained that Kris was a "real musician" and he (Adam) was a "freak of nature". Does anyone remember this, maybe better than I do? I remember that story too, but I also think it was debunked as something lifted from a fanfic. I found an article reprinted on a Chinese web site. tieba.baidu.com/f?kz=603086028I still don't know whether the article is real, but the quote I remember isn't from fanfic. i work with kris mom and no unfortunately i dont know her personally. anyway she did a interview for our monthly newsletter and it was posted at our website. so here it is. Kris & Adam
Kris and the runner-up Adam Lambert couldn't be more different. Kris is the good-looking married guy next door with a smooth soulful sound and a musician to boot; while Adam is the flashy eyeliner-wearing glam rocker with an edgy style. "Many people have questioned me about Adam, and many of them have asked, 'How could they be friends?' They are different, but they have a mutual respect for each other. Both were incredibly consistent throughout the competition It's not our place to judge Adam, and Kristopher loves everyone. He doesn't have an enemy in the world. He and Adam really are friends."

He is way too humble from what I have seen and heard from him in the last 4 years. |
