I finally remember where I first heard "Shout". It was during the Vietnam War. All the kids were doing dope, dropping out of college, protesting the war, hating everyone over 35. The country was in chaos during that time. It is an antiwar song and anti-establishment. Sorry but when Adam sings it, it makes absolutely no sense. I have to be able to reference something when I hear music. I have to relate somehow either personally myself or some knowledge from life. There is no reason for Adam to be singing an anti-war, drop out hippie song from the 60's which is relevant to nothing in his life today. OOL, Stay, ITL, BE, Shady. Those I can relate to. Did you know they have rated Adam's concert as 16 and object to OOL and Shady because it promotes the gay lifestyle. Made me sick when I read that on twitter. However, they will allow any age to come to the concert. Ahhhhhhhhh!!! I am screaming, enraged. It was done by the church people who own the venue. I assume that a rating of 16 is like giving a movie a PG13 rating in the US? It is just to warn parents that some subject matters might be "mature"? But they still let any age in, so it is not such a big deal. The objection to songs due to "promotes the gay lifestyle" is a whole different matter. Wish it just didn't matter! Could it be a verbal protest just to appease the other churches, or does their objection carry any weight?

THank goodness nothing more..It's ridiculous! The venue ,IMHO,threw the church a bone to keep them quiet..It's all good,it could have been worse.. like with Lady Gaga. Just keeping my fingers crossed ,that all goes well, when it comes to Russia and Kiev...The more I see and hear about what it takes for Adam to just SING, the more I love him and the more I will fight for him.In a way all of the drama helps to make Adam ICONIC. Checking in before I go to bed.. addicted. After watching Idol,I had to listen to Adam for about an hour, just to hear his gorgeous voice. Same here! Well, don't know about Kiev, but Russia has been on the news lately about anti-gay laws. If they think Adam's actions on stage are "promoting homosexuality", he might have some problems afterwards. Hopefully nothing will happen.

I Googled The New Creation Church in Singapore and it is a mega church with 24,000 members. I had no idea there were churches that large in China. Always learn interesting bits of info in this fandom. I bet they gave the concert a lot of free publicity. So amazed at how great the Chinese fans has been.

Don't know how Adam interprets the meaning of Shout's lyrics, but here are two quotes regarding the meaning. Orzabal wrote the song. Smith was one of the singers.A lot of people think that 'Shout' is just another song about primal scream theory, continuing the themes of the first album. It is actually more concerned with political protest. It came out in 1984 when a lot of people were still worried about the aftermath of The Cold War and it was basically an encouragement to protest. —Roland Orzabal
It concerns protest inasmuch as it encourages people not to do things without actually questioning them. People act without thinking because that's just the way things go in society. So it's a general song, about the way the public accepts any old grief which is thrown at them.

Sigh........I live in the geographical center of the United States and haven't seen Adam live since the Glamnation Tour. My son lives in Singapore and I was just texting him trying to get him to go to Adam's concert tomorrow night and he told me he can see the Star Theater from his apartment window and has heard about the concert. Hope he goes but REALLY wish I was there!!!!!!!!!! I heard "Stay" on pop radio this morning on way to work. I love Rhianna but all I could think was how much better Adam sang it! His Stay in Shanghai kills me. I listen to it everyday. I hope he sings Stay in Singapore. I like TFM but i hope he doesn't take Stay off his set list.

Interesting! Thanks, Nonotme! I do think it fits Adam. P.S. What the f*ck am I doing still up? 6:13 AM in Spain. Being on holiday is the worst thing for keping healthy sleeping habits! Well, I'm going to bed. I'm sure Adam will tweet and wake me up as soon as I've fallen asleep, as always. ETA: Goodnight!!!!
