I vote for #1 album and #1 single Go track down Max M and Shellback somewhere in Sweden, kidnap them and extort a hit or two  You will have our full moral support, no worries:) You can be our Swedish connection:))) Hahaha! IMO: there will be no covers on Adam#3, he will still be the EP, he will try and go more mainstream with his music, we will have the album by year end, the content will not be as personal as TP and as such will be less "scary" for the PTB = "less gay",there will be no radio tour, we will have a single by end of August I am probably wrong on all the points  I think the new single will come out in October so that it will be eligible for the 2015 Grammys. Plus they will need that long to have enough material to choose from. And I think he will have to use a few more songs written by others to make a November release deadline. |

After all, he contemporised songs like Smokey Robinson’s Track of My Tears and Johnny Cash’s Ring Of Fire on Idol. “Possibly,” teased Lambert. “Everything has been done before, so finding a way to put one’s own twist on something classic is always a thrill.”

Surrendering to the things you can't control is a very simple concept from a spiritual perspective. You let go of the things that are beyond your control and trust the universe to work things out how they are meant to work out.

Covers? It depends on the definition. But Adam will not write or co-write all the material on Adam #3. And I would not be surprised if he included a cover of a previously released song on Adam #3. EP? If he wants to do it again, he will be EP. He probably will want to do it again. He will be more mainstream with the lyrics and musical style, but he will not be mainstream. I will be surprised if Adam gets an album out by year end but I think he will have at least one single out this year. Album in 2014. It will still be personal and it will be "scary" to the RCA Execs. He will go coast to coast in the US doing radio promos and every radio promo event he can get. I am probably wrong on all the points I will add a couple predictions: He will include at least one song designed for the Asian markets. Not just the extra bonus tracks for Japan, but a single with vocal drama. The album will have a strong 80's influence. Electro-rock will be involved. |

I agree.. Trespassing was a stellar album. A great artistic effort. It makes me sad to hear him even consider surrender of any kind. However, I too must let go and trust that all will be as it should. Don't be sad, dear, he ain't 'surrendering' anything to anyone, aside from letting people help out more, perhaps:) No one is going to make Adam make vanilla songs. He didn't executive produce FYE and it was a great album. His third album is also going to be stellar, whether he produces/writes on it or not. And his fourth/fifth/Xth... In this same interview, he talks about how part of the reason he admires MJ and Madonna so much is because each of their albums was a different kind of project and he wants the same for himself. So, expect to be amazed by his next project:))) This is one of my favorite interviews... Thank you for showing it..IMHO on one hand,Adam seems to view his career as a free flowing intellectual,artistic , transcendent,life changing journey. On the other hand,of course, is the worry about sales, the bottom line and record company profits.The poet/philosopher has to sell... not an easy balance...maybe that's where the surrender aspect comes in. |
