I checked to see if Adam and Kelly have the same A&R person. They don't! What is A&R? From wiki.. Artists and repertoire (A&R) is the division of a record label or music publishing company that is responsible for talent scouting and overseeing the artistic development of recording artists and/or songwriters. It also acts as a liaison between artists and the record label or publishing company; every activity involving artists to the point of album release is generally considered under the purview of, and responsibility of, A&R.

Actually, I don't think that KC song would be a great idea....it would seem too specific for Adam....it is a 'been there, done that' kind of song at best and we know where that message went, and what it did for him. He does not need more of that. And add to that, for me....it almost sounds 'victim-y' and that is the last thing Adam likes....sorry...glad it is KC singing it and not Adam. Adam has never released a single (besides acoustic Aftremath) that was like this; ie a message for the misfits. So he really hasn't tried it at all. It doesn't sound victimy to me at all. Actually reminds me a lot of Raise Your Glass by P!NK! ETA: I also think angsty teenagers would love it!

Actually reminds me a lot of Raise Your Glass by P!NK! ETA: I also think angsty teenagers would love it! I see where you are coming from and I do get it....but imho, where it can be embraced easily as 'universal' when sung by someone like Kelly, or Pink, or Gaga... from Adam it takes on the aspects of another gay anthem....and while messages are vaguely differentiated, the gay community did not embrace his music and radio etc will not play it .... so I do not see a big upside to him recording this song, if he had been given the opportunity. I also think he is loath to put out a message of "we need to stick together" in this context. It is one thing to invite everyone to celebrate their uniqueness but that is not the message here. I remember how long it took him to come on board with a "it gets better" message and then it was very much a "ignore them and you will rise above them" message of individuality" .... which is not the main message I am getting from this song. Perhaps I am just hearing it differently....that is just what I picked up on. fwiw...and that may not be much... eta...I do not think Adam really sees himself as a misfit in the way this song uses the term....a 'freak' in the pop cultural colloquial of the day....yes...

I've never heard of Luke Bryon. But I am not a country music lover so maybe he's very popular with country fans. LOL! Adam...93% Luke Bryon...7% right now! I had never heard of him either until he was announced for The Allentown Fair this year and his tickets started selling like hotcakes. So he is apparently very popular with Country fans. Of which there are a lot in my area.
