Ok, so I wont supply percentages since I don't want to be inaccurate (or have the time to look figures up) but Adam is in a place where he, as an openly gay man, is seen as criminal, immoral, a danger to society, and mentally inbalanced, by the government and a large majority of the citizens. On top of just being himself, he will stand on a stage and sing Fever with a male pronoun, he will sing OOL which he is on record for saying is about gay rights. What part of that sounds 100% safe? I think he will be fine but, for sure he is making a statement by being there and there are risks to that from those that want to make an opposing statement. I applaud Adam for taking the risk, but the consequences are really out of his hands. That's what I don't like.

here is the Kiev Recap such as it is. To be honest there are not many good videos out there, I posted some anyway and if more come in I will post those as well. We are very spoiled when it comes to videos so a show here or there that is sparse with the vids is fine by me. I never want fans to feel obligated to make videos. atop.proboards.com/thread/1650/2013-concert-recaps-petersburg-helsinki

I want yet comment this: " The Russian government allowed Adam to book this concert in St. Petersburg, Russia.......". Russia doesn't necessarily function that way. We Finns know very well that the local authorities don't always care what The Russian government says. And nobody cares..... :-S. I'm not saying that he is in danger, but it is unnecessary to provoke them. He won't provoke anyone, he's too smart for that and he's well protected. And come on, they wouldn't dare touching him. He'll be fine and soon he'll be in Finland. And I'll be there too! lol Is it strange that I'm thinking things like: "Oh God, I'm going to be in the same country as Adam for the first time. Heck, I'm going to be in the same city!"? I'm already starstruck and I'm not even near him yet. #NotFair

I got a virus attack (and thankfully blocked by Norton) when clicked play on the linked page. Please be careful in case it happens to you.

MY DH and I have visited St. Petersburg & the city is a wondrous place, but I have to say ,we felt uncomfortable.. It was a feeling of unease and that was before all this show of bigotry. I have visited Moscow and Leningrad (as St. Petersburg was then known) and had an amazing and educational time, but was extremely aware of being in a police state. Police and military everywhere. My sister and I were stopped and harassed by soldiers in Moscow, who demanded to see our papers and then laughed at us and pushed us around a little. Everyone in our group was forced to turn in their passports upon arrival in Russia and they were not returned until the day we left. I don't think anything will happen either, but at the same time I will be glad when Adam and the glamily touch down on free Finnish soil. yes, I'm sure when you visited over 20 years ago things were different junie (the name was changed back to St. Petersburg in 1991) but I have a difficult time believing that the city were those teenage girls did the flashmob for Adam a few months ago has police patrolling and harrassing tourists at this point. St. Petersburg is the most westernized city in Russia. I have no doubt Adam and his group will be free to explore the city without incident.

He just performed in Moscow without incident.....what has got everyone's knickers in a twist just because he traveled to another city in Russia?
