Aleks - Just want to add my appreciation for your great post, especially in putting into words some of what I've also been thinking.

Without bringing over your entire post, this is what has been most meaningful to me - "Adam has learned to share less. Not to give less, on the contrary. What he gives us is abundant. It is more of a sense that he has separated more distinctly his private life and his stage life". I first saw Adam live at Gridlock on New Years Eve, 2009, in his first solo performance with his band, and as you have described "excitement, giddiness, arousal...sometimes nervousness, trepidation" - it was all there. He was on fire that night with amazingly high electric energy, but as he himself said later, it took him some time to calm down after that performance. Now, I too am seeing him evolve into a more mature performer but without sacrificing what makes him unique and beloved. He's become a true trooper and can pace himself to continually put on fine performances that are special to each venue and audience.
