Adam to perform at the 17th Chinese Music Awards

On April 18, 2013 Adam will be performing at the 17th Chinese Music Awards in Macau. According to @glam_alidol, Adam will perform two songs and also walk the red carpet.

The Star TV 17th China Music Awards is organized by CCTV, Shandong television, Star China Media Ltd. and co-organized by Channel [V] and the Venetian Macau. The event will be held at the Venetian Macao-Resort-Hotel.
Celebrities expected to attend include Charlene Choi, Rainie Yang, Huang Zheng and Shui Mu Nian Hua, along with contestants from “The Voice of China”.
“It is an international award. When we organized the event in the mainland, it did not have that much influence. Now we are moving to Macau, an international city, it works as a window for the mainland, Hong Kong and overseas regions. We would like to host CMA continuously in Macau in the future,” said Zhang Hong Quan, Vice President of Star China Ltd. The biggest difference for this edition of CMA, as stated by Mr. Zhang, “Lies in that the event is designed with crossover ingredients, Chinese culture is combined with western culture. We have invited brands from the United States and at the same time, we have Chinese opera.”
Zhang believes the music industry in the mainland is changing. “The voice of China is the best show so far in the mainland. A good voice became an important topic.” He agreed that talent shows are a leading trend in the industry; grassroots singers can become super stars by standing out in the show.
Furthermore, the Vice President Zhang revealed interest in having the show return to Macau soon: “It’s an international award and Macau is an international city; we can have cooperation.”
Sands China Ltd. President and CEO Edward Tracy said: “We started work with Star TV a year and a half ago. We think we bring a lot of fun and excitement to Macau; it is a big part of our entertainment strategy. This is also our fourth time working with ‘Voice Of China’, which is the most popular show in China today.”

Concert promoter files for bankruptcy protection

Steve Brill, who left the Greater Des Moines radio business in 2012 to promote concerts, has filed for bankruptcy, citing unpaid bills to country music and rock acts such as Adam Lambert, Train and Joan Jett.

According to the filing, Brill owes $45,000 to Lambert’s Glambert Inc. and the Creative Artists Agency (CAA) in Nashville, Tenn. Brill also owes $87,500 to the rock group Train and its promotions company and he owes $125,000 to Mark Doolittle and his Red Truck Tickets in West Des Moines, according to the filing. Brill also owes several thousand dollars to other musical acts and their agents.
