Playlists!
3.30.13 by Q3
I have been wanting to post something about playlists for a while, but there has just not been a break in the Adam news -- until today. First of all, let me share a few really great music discovery and playlist sites:
Top 50 Playlist Chart sharemyplaylists.com/chart
Playlist.com a really easy place to create a playlist www.playlist.com/home#a/r_03/3xG/
(I have one, it is 100% Adam.)
Grooveshark grooveshark.com/#!/
They gave some excellent genre radio stations: grooveshark.com/#!/genres
And there popular song list is usually right on the curve: grooveshark.com/#!/popular
There must be 1 million playlist sites and countless online radio sites. But they are all useless without music and the musicians.
Check back tomorrow for more playlists fun.
First, let me start with Adam's personal playlist from Spotify:
The votes are in and the people have selected Adam Lambert and Britney Spears as Music's Sexiest Man and Woman in a poll conducted by Billboard. In honor of Adam's achievement here is the highly requested Adam Lambert Personal Playlist thanks to Sony Music and the Spotify Filtr app. (from June 2012.)

Adam's iTunes Playlist
This is an older playlist from Aug 23, 2010
- 1. "Vogue" by Madonna: "I remember loving the lyrics to this song. The message was about folks of all kinds coming together through dancing to the music. The video featured beautiful men being fierce. First taste of fabulous."
- 2. "Thriller" by Michael Jackson: "I loved the Halloween theme, 'cuz that was my fave holiday. The Vincent Price spoken-word section was so haunting!"
- 3. "Whole Lotta Love" by Led Zeppelin: "The sexiest guitar riff ever. The breakdown in the middle is psychedelic!"
- 5. "Fame" by David Bowie: "The Young Americans album has my fave Bowie sound. The funk grooves are irresistible."
- 6. "Kiss" by Prince & The Revolution: "Prince's falsetto was like nothing else I'd heard. Sexy as hell pop-funk!"
- 7. "Supermassive Black Hole" by Muse: "I'd been aware of their previous work, but when I heard this track I was in LOVE! The vocals and production are top-notch."
- 8. "Beautiful" by Christina Aguilera: "One of my favorite singers sending a stunning message in a song written by force Linda Perry. Inspirational."
- 9. "A Song for You" by Donny Hathaway: "This man's voice and emotion made me want to become a better singer. The things he could do with his instrument still give me goosebumps."
- 10. "Free Your Mind" by En Vogue: "These girls had the sickest voices and attitude. Their music videos were so glamorous! Funky divas who inspired Destiny's Child. 'Nuff said."
- 11. "Crazy" by Gnarls Barkley: "I couldn't get enough of Cee-Lo's voice, this melody, and the production of this defining tune. I ended up singing it in cabarets and felt I could totally identify with the lyrics."
- 13. "The Beautiful People" by Marilyn Manson: "He made hard goth-rock glam! I was intrigued by his take on androgyny and his controversial approach."
- 15. "Criminal" by Fiona Apple: "This album was my teen-angst soundtrack. Her songs nursed me through my darkest shame and secrets and the unrequited loves of my youth."
- 16. "Bionic" by Christina Aguilera: "Her vocals in this take other pop girls to SCHOOL. Production is an A+. I am entertained!"
- 17. "Song for No One" by Miike Snow: "I am such a huge fan, and this song is just so good! Simple as that, and amazing production. Great live as well."
- 18. "Robot Love" by Allison Iraheta: "Her vocals are so siiiiccck! I love my girl. She can sing anything."
- 19. "Clap Your Hands" by Sia: "One of the best albums this summer. The video, the song . . . everything about this is right."
- 20. "Back In Time" by Keane: "One of the best bands there is. Great lyrics and good groove."

Celebrity Playlist: Adam Lambert's Favorite Songs
By Alicia Diaz Dennison August 17, 2011Anyone who watched Adam Lambert systematically own his season of American Idol knows that the artfully coiffed singer has a deep love and appreciation for glam rock pioneer David Bowie (those not in the know should be sure to watch Lambert writhe his way through a Bowie medley live in San Jose here). And anyone who spotted the facial hair Lambert sported for a hot minute in April 2011 would be able to guess that the dude might have a thing for George Michael.
But beyond the San Diego native's obvious inspirations—Freddie Mercury, Michael Jackson, Mick Jagger, Prince—what's Adam listening to?
Since the first days of his stardom, Adam's been singing Lady Gaga's praises. On ABC's Nightline, he explained, ""I think Lady Gaga is great and is changing pop music and bringing back a certain rock 'n' roll spirit, swagger to the game."
He went on to praise her song "Speechless," saying, "I think it's definitely, it's a throwback vibe. It's like Carol King, Elton John, very, like, 70s singer-songwriter, which I think is a good look on her, because we hear all this really contemporary dance music from her, so it shows her range."
Asked for his favorite songs of 2009 by MTV, Adam cited the who's who of Top 40 radio: Pink's "Sober" ("I love her, she's amazing"), Ke$ha's "Tik Tok" ("That's a good song") and the Black Eyed Peas' "Boom Boom Pow" ("Pretty cool").
Here are some other Adam-approved songs:

1. Miike Snow's "Song for No One"
One of Adam's less mainstream favorites is Miike Snow's eponymous debut: "That album is unbelievable. I need to learn how to pronounce it, so I can start plugging it. Is it pronounced like the Japanese director? Mai-ike? Mike? That double 'I' is confusing. I'm gonna start calling them Mike now."

2. Sia's "Be Good to Me"
Adam told Idolator that his favorite song of 2010 was this track off of Australian singer-songwriter Sia's album We Are Born.
Lambert appreciates the intimacy of Sia's lyrics, noting,"She puts her heart out there for all to hear, see and judge. She is saying this not only to “he” but also to her listeners, that she is exposing herself to us in such an intimate way. She is really speaking to anyone who wants to listen."

3. Jessie J's "Domino"
It sounds an awful lot like Big Audio Dynamite's "Rush" as performed by Katy Perry to our ears, but Adam tweeted his love of this song by British songstress Jessie J just this week.
It's no wonder Adam loves it so much: He's a huge Katy Perry fan, too!
Who has Adam's music on their playlist?
Here's one: Bed Bath & Beyond's fragrance, Forever Red, has its own playlist and it includes Adam: www.spotifycelebrityplaylists.com/2013/02/bath-and-body-works-forever-red-playlist.html#.UVZ4LTcTT5A
