Happy Easter to those who celebrate it now:))) In these parts Easter is next month:)))
Although I mostly agree with the collaborations discussion from last night and today, I am not sure it really matters that much. Trespassing has great names on it, people who have rendered many hits - and it turned out not to be a guarantee of any sort, of course, as it never is. I do believe there is something of a hit recipe out there; someone, I think Q3, posted all the common characteristics of most hit songs the other day and that would be the recipe if there is one. Following it is not a sure thing, either.
I am surprisingly calm in this pre-third album period only because I have come to the realization that all the worry about whether the third time is really going to be the charm for Adam, hit-wise speaking, has seeped out of me. You all know that I am not above believing and claiming that he, in all his glory, would have to stoop to conquer the charts throne, but also I am laughing at myself for that preposterousness these days. Because there is nowhere to stoop to - his uniqueness makes him unable to conform or get compartmentalized. Even if he wanted, the mimicry is off the table for him. Following a recipe is exactly that - a form of mimicry. I honestly would not mind him doing that; I just think he cannot.
As autobiographical and unyielding as Trespassing is, there is a compromising hand offered there, with Adam trying to balance things out between his integrity and the 'Game Of Thrones' rules. The tip of that scale weighed largely for the integrity part and if Adam wants to move that tip more into the rules part for his third album, so be it. I am not sure what that would mean, though. Collaboration with the sure hit makers? If they exist, I'd like to know their names, please. Not executive producing it? Not consulting his friends? I do not see how that would change anything. I really don't know what he can do that has not already be done on Trespassing. THERE IS NO LOGICAL REASON why that album did not do better, numbers-wise.
Here is what I do know - Number Three is going to have great songs and be a great album. If radio does not play it, Adam is going to make Album Number Four regardless of the fact, because of the Glamberts. He is always going to have the audience, always have the buyers. With that in mind, there is something we should all focus on - it is very important not to exclude anyone, not to chase people away from the fandom. Everyone should be embraced - the happy campers and the worrywarts; the shy ones and the talkative ones; the Mommies and the babies of the fandom; the rational ones or the dramallamaqueen passionate ones; the ones who only care about his voice and the ones who want to know how big the GB is; the Sauliberts, the Adommy shippers, whoevershippers ( sorry if I got the names wrong)..., #teamwhatevers, and, even if it kills me, the ones who don't like everything about Adam or his every song. Everyone should be welcome - except the psychopaths about whom Murly posted and I blocked and reported them, as should everyone.
The only prerequisite questions for a Glambert should be - did you buy Adam Lambert's album? Do you plan to buy it? Are you going to his concert? Are you spreading the Adam love? Are you encouraging other people to check Adam's music out? If the answer not to all of these, but to any of them is yes, then you are a Glambert good enough and nothing else matters. So, easy trigger fingers would be the way to go, since it is more important not to make a Glambert feel excluded than to prove our point. Our feelings should be set aside for the greater good sometimes.
Meanwhile, I am cheerfully crossing my fingers for the as soon as possible and as awesome as possible single/album release and I plan to kill the waiting time on line with my fellow Glamberts chit chatting about everything, increasing our numbers hopefully, and if that mostly includes talking about the all around fabulousness of Mr Adam Lambert, then so be it. I can live with that
Of course, this is all just my opinion and everyone is welcome to disagree. I hope Adam leaves me enough time to work out my war plan for getting my hold on at least one copy of his future album to be. It is always an Indiana Jones kind of adventure for me, since I cannot shop online from here. So it has to be physically bought in the US. By a weird cousin with a weird glare. Who talks funnily. And smells even more funnily. Ah, the things I do...
