Idol has reached an all time low. Lazaro is in the Top 3! I am not at all surprised. The voting audience has chosen WGWGs for the past five seasons. Producers tried to change that by not putting thru even one WGWG. But, did they really think that the audience would then switch preference to girls? Really? Aren't we talking about teenage girls voting for their fantasy boyfriend, and mothers of teenage girls voting for a cute guy to be their daughters' boyfriend? Lazaro is not a WGWG, but he is the closest thing to it that is left in the competition. And don't forget about Sanjaya. Actually, I think Idol is in a very precarious position right now. If they don't have a cute, sweet, cuddly WG (or close to), their main voting block is not going to suddenly become passionate about a talented girl. More likely, they are just not going to watch at all. Serious fans of great singing talent have long since abandoned Idol after Adam broke it. Who is left to care about and vote for the girls? |

This reminds me of 'Queen For a Day'. I remember that show. It should have been called "Top That Woe." People desperately trying to convince America that their life circumstance was more pitiful than that of the other people on the show. |

This reminds me of 'Queen For a Day'.  does have that feel, doesn't it??? I'm howling here. Goes to show America still has FINE taste in talent. Urg.. |

This reminds me of 'Queen For a Day'. Oh, yes! I was talking to a non-Idol viewer the other day and explaining that it was NOT a talent competition. I told her about the producers' casting of the best human interest/sob story Cinderella candidates, and I actually described it as a modern "Queen for a Day." Glad I am not the only one who saw that similarity. |

Idol has reached an all time low. Lazaro is in the Top 3! Ridiculous! Clearly people are not voting because he is the best singer/entertainer. I am so glad Adam is not an Idol judge. I am starting to become glad Adam did not win this bogus contest. I am thinking about voting for Lazaro if he makes the final to prove winning means nothing.  The evil side of me is coming out.  Not sure if my post is a response...... hope so....anyway, out of lurking to agree I have every week thanked the heavens Adam was NOT one of these judges this season!!!!!!!! Karma for the win............ NO blaming AFL for AI sucking!!!!!!!!!! |

About Lazaro in the Top 3... I'm curious if there is still a Vote for the Worst group. Anyone know? Yes and they are supporting Lazaro. But they are not big enough to do this. This is sympathy voting. He really has a ton of fans. I really think that he has a chance to win. It is ridiculous but true. ETA: I am adding someone else's llist of who is voting for Lazaro: People who respond to: (a) His music.
(b) His tight pants.
(c) His underdog status as a courageous stutterer who carries on (carries on!) despite criticism.
(d) His mild improvements and increasingly sassy attitude (look for "but he connects to the songs!" to start being widely said).
(e) His VFTW-iness as a focus for anti-fans and hate voters. (f) the people who will vote for any dude as "more deserving" than the dreaded Girl Winner
And since he is the only guy left, he really might win!!
I am appalled! But, Michael Slezak did have a good take on this! It is likely that Kree and Janelle are splitting the Country votes. Amber and Candice are splitting the R&B votes. Angie is in Top 3 and as the only boy left, Lazaro could end up in the Finale! So wrong!!  Although part of me thinks it would be a good "serves you right" to Nigel and company for all their blatant manipulation this year. |
