This came from a blog about something entirely different than the change in a relationship. But, it makes sense to me in that context. And I love that Dr. Seuss quote. But then, I am a sucker for Dr. Seuss in any form.
"“The farther you go, the less you know.”
When Lao-Tzu wrote that line some 2500 years ago, he meant that the essential truths of existence can be found within; looking outside of ourselves for answers only leads us astray. To my unenlightened mind, however, his words say something else, something both contradictory and complementary: The more you explore a place, the less you realize you know about it. The easy stereotypes and labels and narratives start to break down as you delve deeper beneath the surface."

Sad to hear about Adam and Sauli's split, they really did seem to be the perfect match, in attitude and spirit as far as we could tell. I am only invested in Adam, but it was so great to see him so happy, glowing almost at times, and for that I like Sauli very much. They obviously had a great love affair that has now changed to a warm friendship. A shock to his fans, mostly, but they both appear to be great people, and they will both be fine. I think they have enriched each other's lives and have each grown a lot during their relationship. I wish both nothing but the best and hope the gap of a significant other will not hurt too much. Heard the news recently and your thoughts echo mine closely. Best wishes to both Adam and Sauli. Adam seems to pick good people in his close relationships. I am sure they have each grown from knowing the other and that life holds good things ahead for them both.

It is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.
Bullshit.
I liked Adam so much better when he was with Sauli. I didn't have to look at pictures of drunk Adam in a bar surrounded by boys looking like a fool. Adam and Sauli together seemed to sparkle and shine and have so much fun. Always smiling and laughing. Adam turned into a businessman and seemed up for a real career. Alway involved, always working. He seemed so happy with someone to come home to.
I sit here wondering how long it took Adam to finally admit that they were broken up. Things have been wrong for awhile and people seemed to know it, but nothing was said. It's like the release of the Trespassing album. Kinda ishy. I've always been Adam's fan but I fell in love with Sauli along the way. He was so good for Adam. The two of them jogging and drinking juice. What a pair walking hand in hand down on that red carpet. They brought me such joy. I am going to miss that. Adam is single again. Oh boy, can't wait for the pictures.
I think I need another glass of wine and forget about Adam for several days.

One of our very wise people on Atopia has a quote from Dr Seuss at the bottom of each of her posts that I have been reminding myself of all evening "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened". I'm sure that both their lives have been enriched by the past two years, and I hope they've each gained a life-long friend who understands them. But then...why does my heart still hurt a bit for them? thanks for noticing, whenever I feel sad I remember that quote. I've been offline for a few days. What a day to get back online

Definitely not bullshit. Being in love and being loved shows you that it can happen! That you can have love in your life. That you can give it and are worthy of receiving it from someone. Nothing BS about it, IMO. And as far as Adam in bars with other guys, that's what you do when you are a single guy or girl, especially in a place like West Hollywood. I might even add, that is exactly how he met Sauli My only wish is that both the boys are happy and they each find their true love (if they want to.) It's really not for me to say. I do know two things about myself and my feelings for these two though. 1) I have come to love Sauli BUT 2) I am here for Adam

OMG....I was lost in the DIVAS videos (thank you holst, they are wonderful, aren't they?? ) and missed nocturn's post. I'm sorry, but I can't NOT reply. Adam owes us fuckall! and I don't see anything wrong with the way he announced the split. Also...while I'm at it. We know fuckall about the relationship. Yes, they both appeared happy.... yes, Sauli seems like a lovely guy...but everything we're allowed to see is superficial at best. Assuming we have the knowledge or right to characterize the relationship is absurd (and hella presumptuous!) Okay I'm done now, haha! Back to re-watching the DIVAS videos for me. Adam was stellar on that show!

I'm sure that both their lives have been enriched by the past two years, and I hope they've each gained a life-long friend who understands them. But then...why does my heart still hurt a bit for them? The past several years that Adam and Sauli have been together have provided us many happy pics and touching moments. Yes, we can smile that it happened and we had a chance to view their happiness. However, those of us who follow Adam on a daily basis had many clues that the relationship was changing not only with the abundance of pics with Adam partying without Sauli but also Adam's WAG tour performances. I am not going into the specifics on the performances but there are subtleties that are different in the way Adam performed since the beginning of A & S's relationship and during the WAG tour. Adam is a very sexy man and I find it difficult to believe he can function without sex for long periods of time. #BecauseofAdamLambert I have a sexier life and whatever it takes to make Adam happy should be OK with the fandom.
