I know the feeling of counting the days and hours until Adam was on Idol each week. Candace has a great voice, but Adam has a great voice, fantastic charisma and is a talented stage performer. There in lies the difference for me.He's a triple threat. Ohhhh I remember those days so well! I'm one of the lucky ones cause I picked Adam out right away during Hollywood Week & thought OMG this is the guy to watch. It just got better & better every week. There will never EVER be another contestant who can come close to Adam. I messed up the quote - OOPS.

My Adam comparison is because her vocals and interpretations are incredible!! ETA: And she hasn't a bad or mediocre performance all season. She is in a different league than the other contestants. Makes sense. But I have not recovered from that OTHER performance. And, yes, her performance of "Love Song" was one of the best Idol performance I have ever seen. It just did not remind me of Adam. She doesn't "remind" me of Adam. Vocally, she is almost as good as Adam. I don't think any female performer could ever "remind" me of Adam. ETA: She is, IMO, the best female Idol has ever had!

I think Candice is great -- one of the best vocalists in Idol history. She did one song that Adam performed on Idol - "I Can't Get No Satisfaction" For Adam it was a clip in the Top 36 -- performed 2 times on back-to-back nights. For Candice it was on the Top 7 with production, and 5 back-up singers. It was not the best Idol performance for either of them but that is because they both were so strong. In fact it was vocally one of Adam's lesser performances because he seemed to be more focused on the performance: Here is Candice's "Satisfaction" www.youtube.com/watch?v=gB1tGlBLsqoHere are Adam's two performances: www.youtube.com/watch?v=t37ZVn1sHkIwww.youtube.com/watch?v=nR4aGqNVcyo

From Lindsay Parker's review of AI tonight: "However, this stunning showpiece can actually be filed away in the all-time "Idol" vault with past iconic performances like Blake Lewis's "You Give Love A Bad Name," Kelly Clarkson's "Natural Woman," David Cook's "Hello," Fantasia's "Summertime," and pretty much anything Adam Lambert ever did."LindsayParkerarticleETA - sorry for the long link - how do I get the short one to appear? Q3: I shortened it. It is easy to do. On REPLY or QUOTE -- In the line of buttons, dlick on the icon of the world with the page in front of it. Paste the link into the space labeled URL: and the label you want on it in Text: Then hit the Create Link button.

I watch and listen to other "great" singers that people are crazy about. Sometimes I shake my head in confusion, sometimes I think, "meh" and sometimes I am impressed. Pretty darned good. Then, I go back and watch an Adam performance, and...... back down the rabbit hole I go. His performances are so much more interesting, exciting, energetic, emotional. And his voice draws me in and feels like no others. Like tasting different candy bars. Some are overly sweet and lacking in depth. Some are very tasty. Snickers, anyone? But, then you put a gourmet chocolate truffle in your mouth. Lindt, Godiva, etc. OMG! THAT is divine. Night and day difference from the candy bar at the convenience store. That's how I feel when I listen to Adam after listening to others.
In case you need a refresher?

She doesn't "remind" me of Adam. Vocally, she is almost as good as Adam. I don't think any female performer could ever "remind" me of Adam. There is something very personal about who sounds great. There are some female vocalists who have great voices and hit notes that resonate with me -- they span a wide range Phoebe Snow to Karen Carpenter to Adele to Chrissie Hynde etc. And there are other singers like Mariah Carey and Celine Dion who I know can sing brilliantly but who do not connect with me at all. For me, until her second song tonight, Candice in is in the second, "I can respect but not connect with" group if singers. Tonight's performance of "Love" was the first time I connected with Candice -- and that performance was brilliant.
