I watch and listen to other "great" singers that people are crazy about. Sometimes I shake my head in confusion, sometimes I think, "meh" and sometimes I am impressed. Pretty darned good. Then, I go back and watch an Adam performance, and...... back down the rabbit hole I go. His performances are so much more interesting, exciting, energetic, emotional. And his voice draws me in and feels like no others. Like tasting different candy bars. Some are overly sweet and lacking in depth. Some are very tasty. Snickers, anyone? But, then you put a gourmet chocolate truffle in your mouth. Lindt, Godiva, etc. OMG! THAT is divine. Night and day difference from the candy bar at the convenience store. That's how I feel when I listen to Adam after listening to others. In case you need a refresher? I was always impressed by how he not only listened to the, sometimes inane, comments from the judges, but applied what he heard/used the info to refine his offerings.

Makes sense. But I have not recovered from that OTHER performance. And, yes, her performance of "Love Song" was one of the best Idol performance I have ever seen. It just did not remind me of Adam. She doesn't "remind" me of Adam. Vocally, she is almost as good as Adam. I don't think any female performer could ever "remind" me of Adam. ETA: She is, IMO, the best female Idol has ever had! Wow! High praise. Fantasia is my favorite female vocalist from Idol but Candice is pretty high up there. www.youtube.com/watch?v=4rOCwVsSW0YMy favorite male vocalist from Idol -- I just can't decide ETA: WhatNotToSing which collects reviews and ratings from the web has Candice's performance at 95 tied for the #1 all time performance (with Cook's Billie Jean and Kelly Clarkson's Stuff Like That There.) It will probably move up in the final rating tomorrow as the #1 performance of all time. Mad World is at 94. Lazarro's performance of "Close to You" has the first ever 0 rating. What a weird night on Idol -- potentially the best and worst performances ever on the same show!!!

Gotta jump in here and back Mys*&@^#r up. Q3, you don't have to worry that our love for Adam is waning and we are running off. There are many reasons for me to stay right here, but Candice was my favorite since weeks, but I also said until today that I probably would not buy and album/go to a concert. Well, I take that back. I will download her songs and I will check out what she does after idol.
And the reason she reminds me of Adam is not because she sounds similar, but because she: a) can hold my attention such that I can hardly take a breath while she sings b) she can nuance her tone in so many ways that it sounds like she has three different voices in one body c) she can interpret the lyrics and the emotion of a song beautifully d) she is brilliant both when singing softly and when singing loudly
And what she probably will also share with Adam that I don't think she will win this damn show, even though she should. Her Satisfaction performance was one of her weakest performances of the season and yet it is still darn good. She has not yet had a weak performance and probably never will.
Lazaro is a disaster and meanwhile the producers have of course figured this out - a tad to late, I suppose. He is single-handedly now able to destroy the show. They need to get him out. Perhaps they detect some BOT voting from VFTW or something and make a case out of that, but they got to do something to get him off of there.
But the producers are still idiots in other ways. Last week they made the judges come up with their personal top3 and rigged it so that Candice was not in there for three out of four judges, because they were afraid the show would get boring if there was a clearly nominated front runner. Well this week Candice put a nail in that coffin, because it is totally obvious now that she is the front runner, no matter what fake top 3 lists they now make the judges fabricate. I think they (the producers) are totally wrong. The show is not boring because of a front runner, it is boring when there is nothing to be excited about. Excitement about the singing is what brings people back, what creates water cooler talk, or what let's even us talk here. And then people go watching again. #TeamCandice

Thanks so much!! These are high quality m4a files, better than mp3 files. Does anyone have the set of live AI performances directly from iTunes? And the missing TOMT studio version? I'm pretty sure I have all Adam's Idol performances in my iTunes - both studio & live, including TOMT. But they're the original downloads so guess they'd be mp3 files. Let me know if you can't find better ones & I can hook you up to what I've got. If you downloaded the performances from the iTunes store, they are most likely in AAC or M4A format. Do you know where to find the files and how to see what format they are? A note on audio file formats from one of my previous tech posts: AAC & MP3 are actual audio formats per se. AAC has better quality and a smaller file size compared to MP3. MP4 is a "container" format which can contain video + audio in any number of formats. M4A is a MP4 file which contains only audio. You can use a software program such as "MediaInfo" to see what formats the M4A or MP4 file contains. The AI performances provided earlier tonight by spindleshay have the M4A extension, but when checked with MediaInfo, the files contain audio in AAC format. A note on iTunes audio downloads: The preferred, default download format for iTunes is AAC, not MP3. You have to tell iTunes to download MP3 files instead of AAC if you want the MP3 files. This can be done each time or set up as your preference and then you don't have to tell it each time. If you have a choice, it is better to download the files as AAC. The only advantage of downloading MP3 files is that some of the older and/or cheaper portable MP3 players do not play AAC files. However you can use iTunes to convert the downloaded AAC files to MP3 files. In this way, you have the best of both worlds - AAC for better quality on your devices that can play AAC, and MP3 files for devices that can play only MP3 files. I'll find an online link with instructions if anyone is interested in how to do this.

Don't see that anyone responded. I have the missing TOMT studio but am tech challenged so not sure how to get to you. If you want to PM with instructions happy to help. ETA see that gingerpf just responded too Hi whatyasay! I just checked my iTunes & I have all the original downloads, but I'm probably as tech challenged as you are! Hopefully one of us can help out dancygeorgia LOL! OK, I'll write up instructions tomorrow. But first, I need to know if you are using a Mac or Windows? And what version of iTunes you are using? If you don't know how to tell the iTunes version, I can tell you once I know if you are using Mac or Windows.

But I do not have any emotional connection with her, and will not be surprised or crushed if she does not win. JMHO Candice's performance of "I'm Gonna Make You Love Me" was at a pretty similar level to "Satisfaction". The rest of her performances are all very good to great -- and her performance of Lovesong was as good as it gets. I understand how Candice can remind people of Adam on Idol because she is in a league of her own this season but I do not personally have the same feeling. For what it is worth, Dialidol has Lazarro making it thru to next week!
