He did talk about working on the album in his first Miami interview. He said he just did some "brainstorming" with the label. he has talked about direction and wanting to do something different. So far, 4 interviews out of Miami. I imagine he needs to change his words up just for his own sanity!

I am not sure what a label would object to in this statement. It is pretty generalized and not an anti-commercial statement like Prince made:

How do you feel about the level of success that you have achieved? What does it mean to you? 
Success
is relative − I may have my career highs and lows, but all of it is an
amazing step up from where I was five years ago. I am my own boss and I
get to do what I love as a career. I feel very fortunate and I plan to
keep measuring success in the happiness I get to share with my family,
friends and fans.

Regarding the album schedule -- there is no sign whatsoever that Adam is on any expedited schedule to put our his next album. He said he had not started working on it yet and was just in discussions about the concept. He works the way he works and his label is smart enough not to try and change that.

Way back during the recording sessions to FYE, Rob Cavello did an interview about working with Adam -- and said, "He [Adam] can only sing a song that he loves." [around 4:05 on interview below.] It rang so true to me that I never forgot it.

We know from the spin-off products from FYE and Trespassing that Adam is a perfectionist. He will make sure something is the way he wants it before it is released. For example: look how long it took to get AL and GNL DVD production approvals from Adam. He has proven he will take the time to get it right.

Adam is a very unique talent -- he can sing a very wide range of music and does not fit into any stylistic box.

Put it all together --- he must love the song + he is a perfectionist + he will takes the time needed to get it the way he wants it + he is capable of singing almost anything (yes, I think he could do a Country album) + he has no set genre =

RCA A&R cannot just find him a bunch of right genre, right range songs and have him record them.

And if they had any doubts before about this, I think the lukewarm response to BTIKM and NCOE probably proved that matching Adam to the right song is not that easy. [Although, I honestly think I know some fans who could have done better that those two songs.]

I am braced for a longish wait for Adam 3 although I hope we get a live performance of a teaser song late this summer/fall.

So when Adam says he is super motivated about future recordings and that the wheels are turning: new recording to come, and that we should expect something totally different from albums 1 & 2 and that he has ideas about the direction of the third album, what he is really talking about is the overpopulation of mosquitos on the west coast of the French Guyana, no? #brokenenglish
