Adam has recently been talking about the Idol stigma---going on the show to sing a cover (probably) without having anything new to promote just wouldn't be worth it in the long-run, IMO. Better to wait until next year when he will have something new and exciting to promote. Why can't he do both? This year and next year? This year could help him sell a few more copies of Trespassing and show people who don't follow him as closely as we do that he hasn't disappeared off the radar. I was looking forward to the video package they would introduce him with, which was sure to include his concerts with Queen as well as the GNT and WAG tours. Judging by what the show has done so far, I don't think they'll have a Where Are They Now segment unless he performs. They don't just stick those things into the show willy-nilly. They use them to introduce the Idols who have come back to sing on the show. |

I hope that Adam is not accepting these gaycentric gigs in place of more mainstream events - such as Idol. Adam needs mainstream acceptance and awareness/visibility for his career as well as gay support. I don't want to see him focusing exclusively on the gay aspect at the expense of mainstream opportunities.
Yes I know - "worry" is my middle name. Always has been - sorry - guess I'm just wired that way.

My intuition also told me in January that all was not right with Adam and Sauli. Maybe I should start listening to my "intuition" more. Idol's loss IMO..I don't watch the show, but I looked up the vids of Scotty, Carrie and Kelly as I wanted to hear their music. Kelly was great..does the fluorescent bit remind anyone of an Adam performance??? But Carrie looked and sounded so unlike..Carrie...who is a fantastic performer. Very weak single and performance IMO. Not like her. Scotty even looked totally uncomfortable. My point being that Adam is the only vocalist I know now that could really shake up that stage and show the remaining contestants a thing or two about owning a performance. Naked Love..LMAO..or how about a mash-up of Naked Love and Shady???  Over and out on Idol and Adam. |

Hmmm .... the thread is shady today . A bit spooky . Why , guys ? Why are there peeps saying "OMG he's getting irresponsible and careless" (based on a fan tweet , no real facts , lol!!) and there peeps saying "OMG , no Idol appearance" wait but what would an Idol performance with NO SINGLE to promote help him ? Get the ppl to remember Adam ? really ? Well , I remember he did a NCOE performance on Idol last year , and guess what ? it did not help him , or the single itself , much tbh . And anyways , when he does have a new single , then yeah I'm sure he'll get to perform on Idol (and all the other shows too) And there are peeps saying "Where's the oofta tattoo? " Sure it is still there , no worries . But , let's get real and talk like this : If he removes it , Why would we have to worry over it ? It doesn't affect us , it's none of our business . And there are peeps saying "I'm worried for Adam because he is single now" WHAT ? Why ?? You think Adam can't live as a single man ? Really ? I don't think so . Please , no bad blood here . Don't take me wrong , don't take it personally , I just wanna say this : STOP worrying over nothing , guys , really . Adam is great . Looks great . He is having fun . He has a show tomorrow . Really, apart from Carrie Underwood, nobody does Idol every year. Not Daughtry, not Kelly, nobody. Either they are on to promote new stuff, or they are on because they have nothing else going on and need the exposure. Strategically, Adam does not NEED this appearance, and he certainly doesn't need to go back on AI to sing a cover. The AI audience isn't going to see him and then suddenly rush out to look for Trespassing, at least not in significant enough numbers.
But, he is tapping a great market with these Pride things. These concerts are incredibly smart, for a lot of reasons.
To add, I have no doubt Adam could appear on AI if he wanted to. No doubt. I think this was a good decision by his team.
eta---at some point, the whole AI thing would start to look desperate, and Adam is not in that position at all.
