The 5th Annual Miami Beach Gay Pride Parade drew tens of thousands of people. Initial reports are that there was a record crowd for the parade and concerts exceeding last year's 60,000 -- possibly 80,000.
The parade had a record number of participants, with 73 float entries and 1500 people walking with their organizations from 5th to 15th Street, according to festival spokesperson Richard Murray.
Adam received the key to the city from Miami Beach mayor Matti Herrera Bower, and performed at the festival's main stage.
The planned 6-song set was cut short when a sound issue caused a late start. But the crowd did get 4 songs followed by fireworks.
