So sad to get home and here about Boston.
I had such a great weekend in Miami, getting so close to him is always such a thrill. I was so proud to see him on the stage getting the key to Miami loved his outfit he knows for each engagement what to wear and say.
I had so many glamberts in my hotel room the noise level at times with everyone talking was almost as bad as the music before the show, so much fun hanging out with all of you. Met some new atop people melliemom and her DH , lynneville great to meet you hope to see you again soon. Picked up lots of followers with the pics I tweeted.
We did wait along time for the show, glad we did not get there till 7pm and still got so close to the stage only 3 people were in front of me. Adam's voice was great and he looked amazing, I love Terrance and Johny they were so cute. Wished it was longer but grateful to see him so close up and hearing his voice live. I am sure he looked at me at one point those eyes I kept staring at them.

My daughter started chirping about the Boston Marathon over dinner tonight because, as she happily told us, one of her teachers was running it today. So ALL the kids have been talking about the race over lunch, including at least one other (two other?) schoolmates whose dads were also running. She obviously hadn't heard about the explosions.
Had a huge faked smile on my face until we got home and I could check the school's twitter account. The teacher had checked in, saying that they'd finished the race shortly before the bombs went off, but "was very chaotic here". No idea about the other parent(s).
Not sure what the school is going to say tomorrow. Sent the kidlet to bed before we turned on the news, but told her that "there was an explosion at the race, but [] is ok". She seemed far more interested in trying out her new squeaker voice and bouncing than asking further questions, which is fine by me as I'm at a loss at what to say.
Between today's bombing, the Newtown elementary school shootings, and last week's Holocaust Rememberance Day, I'm finding myself trying to explain stupid, senseless, evil deaths more often to a small child than I'm comfortable with. I'm bad at this. I don't know how to explain because *I* can't understand why. Except that sometimes humans can just be ruthlessly insane.
Today started so happy, and now the happiness feels sucked out of everything leaving nothing but gray. We humans can be a horrible species. I'm sorely tempted to pour myself a drink, expect it solves absolutely nada. Kicking the wall fixes nada. Gloomily anticipating about how this stupid situation is going to affect yet more stuff in our daily lives fixes nada. Hate this. Hate this. Hate this.

Hoppers, hugs! While my family was not affected by the Columbine school shooting in Colorado, it had a lasting affect of years of "pranks" of bomb and shooting reports that had my daughter's school (MANY miles away) in lock-downs for years. It's not possible to understand.

Hoppers the only thing I can say is look at all the good people that rushed forward to help the victims even though they were risking their lives not knowing what else might happen. So brave.

[sighs] I know. And with that, I'll share something I was just sent on Facebook: I'm going to try to keep this quote in my mind. But right now, I'm just going to go to bed and crawl under the covers until morning.

It takes all the joy out of everything. It makes it seem like being happy is just in poor taste.
In two or three days, we'll start to hear from people with true wisdom. It takes a while for them to fight their way through all the chatter and misinformation and shock and people doing their same old number.
Right now I just feel "what's the use." Trapped in this rerun.
