He's so brave to do this, knowing the sport industry. I wonder if his team will treat him differently in the locker room. We may see more athletes coming out, however I doubt we will see/hear the more popular athlete (if there's one) does it, especially ones that are getting millions from sponsors. JMHO. He does not have a team anymore. He is on the Washington Wizards roster but their season is over -- they are not in the NBA playoffs. He becomes a free agent in July. He is a tall utility player who may not even be signed to another pro contract. He is 34 years old which in the NBA puts him at the end of career. Funny thing is that while he is the first active US pro player to say he is gay, there is a real chance he many never play again in the NBA. Not because he is gay, but because his stats are marginal. So he came out almost at the end of his career. Well.. with all the progressive movements in the country right now, it's a right time for him to come out and he has nothing to lose anymore .. like you said his stats are marginal. |

He was an All Star 10 years ago. BUT he is an amazing spokesperson for gay rights and a team leader. Sorry for the late response... Sometimes writing things doesn't translate well and I may have failed at expressing myself there. I was not saying people shouldn't speculate. I was stating that I DO speculate. But have come to understand that it has its limits. As some have said, they will never again get themselves invested in Adam's boyfriends, I have simply learned not to assume what Adam hasn't directly confirmed (in that situation, that he and Sauli were forever). I was in no way telling anyone else what to think or feel. Sorry if that didn't come across as it should have.  Atop is an Adam fan board, presumably the object of everybody's affection here is Adam, so let's all just enjoy and experience whatever Adam is bringing our way.  |

Don't know Dusting Penner, but I think I like him already I forgot they even had an ice hockey team in LA!! But I love anyone who shares my low opinion of Nickelback! The L.A. Kings were the 2011/2012 season Stanley Cup Champions. There are 3 NHL teams in California, the Kings, the San Jose Sharks and The Anaheim Ducks. |
