Slow day. OT. Sorta. Fox News is reporting that Candice is getting special "personality training" from Idol to help her win. I have always known that Idol was manipulated, but had no idea it went THIS far. Adam was a total gift for Idol: the best voice they ever had, sexy as hell, interesting interpretations, stage presence galore, and a charismatic, endearing, sunny personality that was totally natural. No training required. I think they still don't realize how great they had it with Adam, or they would have definitely cast him as a judge rather than the "personalities" they have now. Of course, since the Universe watches out for Adam, not getting the judgeship on this fiasco of a season ended up being a good thing. www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2013/05/01/source-american-idol-favorite-candice-glover-getting-personality-training/

I am sooooo not interested in AI this year. They had an ad on TV here in Nashville for the AI Summer Concert -- I didn't know any of the names or recognize any of the people! So happy that I tuned in for AI8.....interesting that it was playing at my Mom's house and I happened to walk by the TV and heard Adam do the Cher song.....stopped, tuned in, thought to myself, "WOW" and jumped on the internet that evening. That was it. Adamddicted.

Adam is naturally an outgoing person who knows how to deal with media and loves to talk. Candice is very shy and suffers from nasty stage fright . I see nothing wrong with helping her and I find it really unfair that it is referenced as if she had a 'bad' personality. They get coaching in all sorts of 'peripherals' on the show...this is no different than coaching on how to dress, how to deal with ear monitors, how to work a mike, how to deal with press.....some will need more or less in each area...this is no different. Just using the term 'personality' was unnecessary, unkind, and yes...prejudicial. IMHO :-S
ETA grrrrrr....why the italics again?? I had started posting a comment at their site but they wanted so much personal info that i got uppity and just copied....and then added some here....but part of the copy italicized and part not so ~shrug~ALSO....another grrrr...still pushed back a page with each refresh....hate this forum format :-[ too hard on the BP!! I know....take a pill...haha
ETA2...I JUST RE-READ MY POST and not only did it randomly italicize but it removed a portion of the copy/paste...I had put in brackets that we know about the stage fright from one of Lazaro's exit interviews where he talks of how afraid she was just before going on stage...and how it did not negatively affect her actual performance....

Any idea how the fundraising is going for the AT&T LiveProud campaign? I don't do twit or FB, so not much help. Great idea that GLAAD is asking for donations for a trip to SF. Why not? The more $$ in the pot, all the better for charity. OT from last night. Brooke Wendle..I could squish you! Working with those super kids from Camden! I couldn't tell just that one segment was AT&T sponsored and featured cause I didn't get it in context. Having not watched the show. It was excellent. Always a joy to see Adam supporting not only Brooke, but the kids. Thanks for bringing the whole vid over.. He's a veritable one man charity drive these days..so proud GLAAD is recognizing him. I'll never forget when he performed in 2010 (?) and before he left the stage, put in his two cents about the gay community embracing diversity. #balls of steel

Besides, all the contestants get "media training."
