Put performance shows back on Tuesday, cut the results back to 1/2 hour and put unknowns back in as judges like some bloggers or fans. Nobody knew who the heck Simon was, Paula was known more as a dancer a long time ago, and Randy played bass in his own mind. Seacrest became a star he didn't start out as one. I find Jimmy irritating especially when he meddles with the performances beforehand. If he's going to be involved put him on the judging panel and turn him into Simon2. Peeps keep saying Idol was always about the performers and I beg to differ, it was all about Simon especially after your favorite, if you had any, left.

The sidebars on this vid are a riot. This is great! Also, I just listened to all his Leno performances and the green tornado WWFM. Totally killed on all of these. I'm so excited he's going to be on TV again! |

JMHO, I think one of the reasons why the ratings are down's because AI doesn't know what to do next. They've produced typical male winners (WGWG)for the past 5 years and they're trying so hard not to have them this season. They pushed for girls for the front runners. But they forget that their watchers and voters are mostly women and girls, who off course like to see guys on the stage. I don't think they are going to sell a lot of tickets for the AI tour either this year. While Idol is struggling with there "please give us a girl winner" strategy, The Voice has 5 female singers who are selling in the Top 50 on iTunes songs --- #5 Danielle Bradberry who is only 16 and a star, #30 Amber Carrington, #38 Michelle Chamuel, #41 Sasha Allen, #53 Sarah Simmons (just dropped out of the top 50) -- and no guys. ** Check a venue, Idols Live tickets are not selling well. And they booked arenas. I do not think this will be pretty. ** Adam and Mariah can only sing together if it is a sing-off.  Mariah is singing her new single -- #Beautiful. Only 40 shows this summer, so maybe the arenas they booked won't do to badly. I did notice on one of the arenas, when I was checking for fun, that it looked like the entire arena wasn't being used. They haven't done Staples since S9. Staples holds 19K. Now they do Nokia (7K) and a small arena in Ontario, Calif that holds 10K. So combined, they still aren't what Staples was. Oh, and there were a few seasonn where they would book Staples and the Honda Ceneter (only 30 minutes away.) Season 9 was bad for the tour and since then they have really scaled back. I got Idol Tour tickets for $10, the week before the show, for Season 9! Q3, 99% sure Mariah is doing a medley of her hits because Miguel can't be there. Tomorrow, she will debut the video for the new single though. |

It changes every day! ** They booked them into the arena in Youngstown (the show for Ohio and Western PA) -- and you can by Row G center right now. That is Row 7. Go to the regular ticket level and it is Row R. For the Chicago show -- I just got row 6! Rosemont is usually almost sold out. And there are great seats at every price point. IMHO they set the prices too high for the premium tickets (4 levels). ETA: For AI8 tour, in Memphis I could not get a floor seat on the pre-sale or day 1. In Arkansas, I had to buy from Stub Hub -- that sold out in negative time. I have no other experience with Idol tickets but this does not look good. |

I wonder why they booked arenas this year? I thought they had been booking smaller venues for S10 & 11? For Nokia, I tried for first row of the loge (best seat in the house at Nokia!) and I got it! I did do the presale though. I am looking forward to seeing the girls and even Burnell! |

It's supposed to be a singing competition yet they only let the contestant sing 1.5mins of any song. I believe 'The Voice' and 'XFactor' give their contestants longer to sing. You can't really get into a song in such a short time and it must be so frustrating for the contestants. People tune in to hear singing, not judges rabbiting on and on. I think this has been brought up by prior contestants and critics yet they don't seem to want to change it. |
