Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, I suppose. This stays very close to the 'original' (the 'original' in this case being Adam's version of ROF). Actual song starts at 1:20. Wish Adam had actually turned that into an album track, who cares whether Nashville supposedly would have thrown televisions out the window. Not that this Simon comment ever made any sense anyhow. With a non-US person recording this as a track, nobody seems to care. With Adam there would have been a sh** storm that he is desecrating country music. Go figure. Vocals on this one are very good actually. Not done live, and not as natural as Adam, but still quite impressive. I wouldn't think Adam would want to re-record Ring of Fire anytime soon. From Wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Season_8_Favorite_PerformancesSeason 8 Favorite Performances is a compilation album by Adam Lambert based on his American Idol performances. The album was released digitally through iTunes and consists of studio recordings made by Lambert during season 8 of American Idol. It does not include live performances at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles.

I must be missing something. How is this "fan art" any different from the photo taken from the Style Bible? www.stylebible.org/

That Ring of Fire vid above from 4m ... wow, wow, wow! FINALLY someone doing an Adam performance justice, worthy of the inspiring original ... me like very much!
I bet Adam would love it too and be jealous of the video :-D
Though Adams version of the video would have included some more pretty ... I don't need to point out the vocal differences, the guy is good, but Adam would be PlanetFierce.
I like it very very much ... off to google the guy ....
ETA1 after about 7min of googling: this guy is either a serious glambert or very smart ... he has covered about every song Adam ever sang (fever, NCOY, TFM ... you name it) And he really is cute and good and ... I really need to find out what is behind this guy now ... he is some kind of reality show contender (big brother/idol mashup? what? and where?) Unfortunately I don't speak spanish (if that's even his language, I would not be able to distinguish from Portuguese ...) Albiku, where are you when I neeeed you ? LOL

While Adam can't lay claim to being the originator of the middle eastern influenced version of ROF ( he gave that credit to Dilana Robichaux during her Rockstar Supernova run) ,IMO he perfected it! This version however, again IMO.... sucks! LOL. Too much electronic manipulation.... and it sounds like his mouth is full of marbles!

OK, this is an Adam thread but this Alex Forriols guy seems like an unbelievable parallel ... If you have some time on your hands(keys) youtube him ... realityTV, musical, artistry, great voice, casting shots, murky theater shots and lots of Adam covers ... one might fall in love with this guy .. at first look at least.
But I still don't know who he is ... someone here on Atop who can educate us(me)? Other than YT the web doesn't cough up all that much.

Lol - Mouth full of Marbles. More like foot in the mouth. This is how a Spanish (from Spain) accent sounds when speaking American English. It is different from the 'Hispanic' accent that you are probably more familiar with. Every country in the world has an accent when speaking or singing another language. Bet you would have and accent too, if you spoke Spanish or any other language for that matter. I did put ' original' in quotes, because I am quite aware of the history of Adam's performance on idol, but did not think that I was required to start with the audition or Adam's birth and work my way forward to explain how we got to this performance. Obviously Alex did not imitate Dilana's version, but Adam's. Adam was inspired by Dilana, but made the song his own. This guy does not make it his own, but rather chooses to imitate, which is actually my biggest beef with him (on all 20 songs that are out there of him covering an AL song). But vocally, there is no question in my mind, that he is probably the closest I have seen anyone come to Adam vocally (range and especially continuous range wise). He has more natural grit in his voice than Adam, and needs to switch to falsetto on a few high notes that Adam can still belt out, but he has a bit more strength in the lower register, so he is darn close. Adam can put that grit into his voice, if he wants to, but he can also not have it, whereas Alex seems to always have it. I wish Alex would have more of an own version of the songs and not just imitate. He is quite creative in the visual area. He has performed a famous Fever cover a few years ago on some talent show, where he incorporated AMA choreography, Mad World lighting and other Adam specific dance elements into a Fever version. I'll go look for it. At the time the vocals did not impress me as much as they did here, probably because he was more focused on all the choreography (seems to happen with these ama inspired dance routines). It was one hell of a sexy performance though, and I loved it at the time. But if you look at his youtube channel, there are quite a few vocally outstanding performances. Again, all imitations, nothing deviating from Adam's version even in the slightest. ETA: Here is the Fever youtube link, while I figure how to reformat the address so it works in the pop-up: www.youtube.com/watch?v=35AAngePSxQ&list=UUokY_EkWEJX5Jt3UQL7bs_g&index=10

MTV Act @mtvact Scary Spice @officialmelb will honor everything nice about @adamlambert at this weekend's @glaad Awards: on.mtv.com/15P0wX4SWEET TWEET: SCARY SPICE MEL B WILL GIVE ADAM LAMBERT A GLAAD MEDIA AWARD Posted by Danica Davidson in Bullying Sucks, Celebs, Events, Sweet Tweet Melanie Brown, a.k.a. Mel B, a.k.a. Scary Spice, is getting ready to spice up Adam Lambert’s life by giving him a GLAAD Media Award this weekend. While being from the UK herself, Mel B’s about to become a judge for "America's Got Talent," and her verdict is that Adam's not only talented, but an inspiration for LGBT rights. The Spice Girl Tweeted:
Melanie Brown @officialmelb Can't wait to present @adamlambert with a @glaad Media Award this Saturday!!! Going to be a fun weekend smarturl.it/glaadmelbSaturday is the 24th Annual GLAAD Media Awards in San Francisco, and these awards like to spotlight people in the entertainment and news industry who support, understand and further LGBT rights. So who better than Adam “For Your Entertainment” Lambert? For his big night, Adam will be receiving the Davidson/Valentini award as a thank you for all his work for LGBT rights. Mel B shows the importance of being an ally. She’s stood up for LGBT rights, like the time she both posed and filmed a PSA for NOH8. In the vid she discusses how she came from a biracial family, which hasn’t always been accepted, so she knows personally what prejudice is like. In other words, her belief in equality isn't exclusively about women's rights a.k.a. Girl Power! "I'm a huge fan of those who open doors for social change and equality, and that's why I'm so honored and thrilled to present the GLAAD Media Award to the brilliant, talented, and very deserving, Adam Lambert!” Scary Spice said. “His fearlessness is an inspiration." ..
