An absolute , redundant NO for covers . Just NO . It SHOULD be an Adam song . Otherwise I'll take it as an insult to Adam and his world-wide superstardom . Come on guys , he's a superstar . He has plenty of songs and they can sing any of them . The Idol finale duets are about the finalist more than the star performing with them. So whatever else, the song and performance will be designed to focus on Angie and help launch her professional career. >> The exciting part is that Adam is the star on the Idol finale. Adam has a number of songs they can use and since Angie is performing a solo of her new single, they have a lot more freedom with the duet. That said there is almost no chance that they will do FYE on the Idol Finale in a duet with Adam and an Evangelical Christian Idol finalist whose parents are pastors. I also cannot imagine Angie singing Trespassing or Shady or Fever or Voodoo or ..... a few other Adam songs. I do not expect them to do WWFM or MW since Angie's new single, "You Set Me Free" is a ballad I expect them to go uptempo for her duet. I keep coming back to IIHY or BTIKM or maybe NCOE. And if they do a cover, Adam will own it so it will not matter if it is a cover or not. ETA: MOMTOMANY THANK YOU!!!
As for the duet , I *don't* want it to be a cover . (Trust me I'm as stubborn as it gets , sun in taurus / aries rising)
I'm just getting over the fact that it's a duet , so the "duet" being a "cover" would be ........... ugh, you get the point .
An Evangelical Christian whose parents are pastors ? then why the hell they put her with a controversial singer like Adam ?
I guess if she's ok singing with Adam and I think her Mom tweeted that she's "excited" for the duet with Adam , Then I think they could handle an Adam song . If not they could have put her with a more umm , safe ? singer .
And the duet is more about the finalist ? LOL. As if she'll even be "visible" next to Adam Lambert .
Sorry , I'm not sorry .
This whole thing is ridiculous , I'mma drop it .
Let's see what happens .

I would like to remind everyone that it is Trespassing's first year anniversary the day after tomorrow. This GLAAD Award comes in perfect time to celebrate that - from hitting Billboard's number one as the first openly gay artist ever to being recognised by GLAAD as the Outstanding Musical Artist for that same album a year later... it's one of those magical strokes of fate his life exuberates in. Like for nothing else, I would love it if we showered him with lots and lots of love for that album on that day:) And celebrate it properly here:))) - Thanks for letting us know when "the day" is. I've been wondering if there would be some way (email/tweet/?) to contact some of the blogs that really support Adam with a little blip mentioning what you just pointed out, and also include that fabulous fan video we saw the other day. A comment that he's been singing this song all over the world, and a fan has skillfully and lovingly put a video together... |
