I hope for Outlaws of Love. I feel like this song began the Trespassing era - July 29, 2011 in St. Agathe, when Adam sang honestly, sorrowfully in the early darkness. Then the rain came in torrents, seemingly from nowhere. It can be a duet; an incredible, heart-stopping, poignant, defiant, courageous duet. I think, one day this song will be a tender anthem, evoking the civil rights struggle of the beautiful among us. It will become; and it will endure. If this song were to capture tomorrow, I would find my ecstasy. I just can't see Angie doing OOL with Adam. I think Underneath would be much more suitable for her. Underneath could work, but it makes me cry. I'd rather the song be more upbeat. I think the best I could hope for is for Adam to solo Cuckoo, then duet a cover.

Adam said that BTIKM is a hard song to sing.. even for Adam Lambert. So If they're performing this, maybe Adam will give Angie's the easy part.

Angie likes rock..no dance or pop, tho..gawd I'm a stinker tonite. Actually better to joke cause pandering to Angie's Christian background to me has NO credence to a gal who stood in stilletos and teensy dresses singing Jessi J. Sorry. If she can't stretch into a song like 'Cuckoo', she needs to go home and take up another hobby. I find this hypocritical to the nth. If she is gonna be in the biz, she is gonna have to sing a lot of different songs. And they don't have to be vulgar. Why ARE we tip-toeing around an Angie-appropriate song with Adam? What are we saying about Adam..his TP songs are too crude for lil' Angie??? So they better do something staid? I say they blow it big with Cuckoo, leave out the F word and be theatrical (can you see her eyes on this song..???) It would be great fun. Or another uptempo song that gets Adam and Angie moving on that stage. glory..got steam coming out of my ears... ![]() (<<<<oh, maybe that is why...lol) And no offense to anyone of the Christian persuasion. My beef is dumbing down Adam. Well, we would not expect Adam to sing a song that he was really uncomfortable with. But also, there is the consideration that the lyrics of the song must be at least plausible between the 2 singers. Cuckoo might be ok with Angie, but it really doesn't fit her personality. OOL is not very plausible to me because there would be nothing outlaw about a love between them. It would be better if Adam sang OOL with another guy. But I think it will be a song that Adam has released as a single. I think part of the point of doing duets is to show the contestant singing a well known song with a well known artist to give the impression that the contestant could make it as an artist.I guess what I don't understand is what IS Angie's personality???? I've never seen such a fear of offending Angie's faith base. She sang all kinds of songs on Idol that weren't 'Christian'..what is up with this tip toeing around? She isn't the only Christian in the Top Ten and I'm not hearing this chatter about anyone else. I'm talking generally here. You make an excellent point in the last paragraph, Dancygeorgia. And I still contend that a bang-up performance can sell the artist and contestant without a well-known song. WWFM is Adam's big song, along with MW and to a lesser extent IIHY. None of the other songs amounted to much. Love them as I do. |

So it could start with Angie singing part or all of her single and then Adam joining in on one of his songs. Or these could be totally separate performances. But I don't think Adam will be doing a solo song for the same reason he has already given. |

I don't care what Adam sings. I know he'll nail it.
OOL is a lament; it could be about star-crossed lovers; those who can't connect; unaccepted.
I can't fathom Adam and Angie with 'Underneath' - just . . . . no. It's not a Christian girl song, in my opinion, in any way, ever. EVER.
IIHY - BTIKM - I can see either one.
Wouldn't it be amazing if something never heard live - 'Runnin' - was the song??
I think 'Nirvana' may be too personal. Can't see Adam 'laying down' beside Angie. And Adam thinks about what he sings.
Pop That Lock would be so fun!
Cuckoo and Shady are too real - in my opinion - I don't want Adam to change any lyric beyond what he had to do in Asia.
Chokehold would leave everyone on the floor. No one would be conscious and able to vote.
I'll have my popcorn, a glass of wine, and my love for Adam in front of the TV tomorrow. Here we go! End of era 2; beginning of era 3. I'll hear a unique performance. Adam leads. 'Slay them!' I say! Hello? Hello?

I would like to have Adam sing OOL solo than have Angie join him for a spirited, strutting version of Trespassing. But I do not expect that to happen. Angie is an Evangelical Christian whose mom and dad are co-pastors of an Assemblies of God church. I think it will be a cover or IIHY. They could do BTIKM. I do not think Adam will do NCOE again since he did that last time he performed on Idol. ...anything NOT from TP will be a lost opportunity.... I don't see how Angie's parent's beliefs are part of the equation... And I certainly hope that Adam will not be pondering to these limitations - that is IF they actually exist (may be it is all fan's imagination). Besides - there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG with Adam's songs. The whole idea of his songs not being "appropriate" for some reason is preposterous! vivlite - I am fuming too!!! ![]() I assume that the co-pastors of a church believe in the information on beliefs posted on that church's website. It is not some fan delusion. They are Assemblies of God pastors. You can go listen to recordings of their sermons. So I strongly doubt that Angie's parents are part of any discussion. Angie sang regularly in the church and was active in many congregational and AOG mission activities. It is an important part of her life. I am guessing just like everyone else but I believe that Adam would not ask someone who does not support gay marriage to sing OOL -- he is too gracious to do that. ** Usually, the star in the duet picks a hit single of their own or of another artist. Trespassing has three singles "Better Than I Know Myself, "Never Close Our Eyes" and "Trespassing". Adam already did NCOE on Idol. NCOE and Trespassing did not chart on the pop chart. BTIKM is the most successful single from Trespassing -- #76 on the BB Hot 100. I think this is the best bet -- but it was released on December 20, 2011. From a musical standpoint, Angie is already performing one ballad -- her new single. I do not believe she will do another ballad for her duet. That knocks out OOL on another count. Angie has said she wanted to do a Jessie J. pop song on the finale. I don't think she wants to do two ballads. Whatever Adam does on Idol, he will probably get a mention for Trespassing and his performance will promote Trespassing. We'll all find out tomorrow, but I honestly trust Adam in whatever he does. He knows what is coming next. All we know if that he has a new song debuting on May 25th. |

Well, I think the issue of not really knowing what is Angie's personality is part of the reason she came in 3rd rather than making it to the finals. I don't see her as the party till you drop type or a wild child type, so I think she would have a hard time connecting to the lyrics of Cuckoo. Angie has said that she doesn't want to do "dance songs" and that she wants to do "inspirational songs" but not "Jesus songs". That doesn't exclude uptempo songs - some of the Jesse J songs she loves are uptempo. If Adam is wise, which we know he is, he will want to do something that Angie can connect with. It's to his benefit to make her sound good! But then I am not a wild child or party till you drop type and I LOVE Cuckoo. But to me it is a great Cha Cha dance song! And I could ballroom or swing dance all night and get kind of crazy with my dance moves. But this is my alter ego  Who knows, maybe Adam will bring out a whole new side of Angie! |

IMO - every single one of Adam's songs would not be appropriate for Idol verbatim or for dueting with a young girl. I don't see how that is so difficult to understand.

Q3 comment: Please be careful to follow the ATop guidelines -- state your opinion without putting words in anyone's mouth. No one has said anything about stringing up Angie.
