Hi Cassie, I noticed Adam faces his partner when he is performing a duet. Adam seemed to be focused on what Angie was singing and matching her tone. Does facing someone make it easier to follow? I doubt they had much time to rehearse. How difficult is it to harmonize and follow someone you haven't performed with before? Looking at the person one is singing with does help to coordinate and synchronize the performance, particularly with phrasing and ending of phrases. More than that, it is important to concentrate on what BOTH singers are doing, and give each other visual feedback. Theatrically, the audience can SEE the connection and rapport of the two working as one, not two singers dueling or just doing their own thing at the same time. I would say that it is part of Adam's theatrical background, but it is also part of Adam's personality to make connections with others. It is one of the compelling reasons interviewers love talking to him.

Q3, I didn't know that singing was on your list of many talents. You are an amazing woman! I hope you get your wish some day. No chance. Whatever slim bit of talent I have is not worthy to be paired with the likes of Jessie J. or JHud. Forget about Adam. Now I think I could hold my own with Pitbull.

Gelly @14gelly RT @yahoomusic: And the Season 12 ‘American Idol’ Winner is… yhoo.it/17CdmI4Adam mention: "Idol" Season 12 finale highlights included Angie Miller's back-to-back duets with Season 8 superstar Adam Lambert and Brit sensation Jessie J (followed by Jessie's personal invitation to fly Angie out to play with her in the U.K.); a Candice Glover/Jennifer Hudson duet that blew minds, and speakers, with its sheer diva-on-diva force; a truly lovely Emeli Sande/Amber Holcomb duet of "Next to Me"; and Keith Urban, Randy Jackson, Blink 182's Travis Barker, and Kree Harrison jamming on "Where the Blacktop Ends."

He has infused such sweetness and beauty into those lyrics, similar to what he's already shown in Stay, for example, and what makes his voice different and better and more than all those powerful voices we heard on Idol last night - it is even more beautiful when it is not 'powerful', it's just multi-dimensional, as already established here. I can't explain it, ask Cassie or Holst or Glampoon, I don't know how he does it, all I know is that he sings in beauty.
Beats the hell out of me how he does it! But I find it interesting that even non-singer, non-glambert listeners hear something special and beautiful in his voice in Stay and Titanium. It is undeniable. I recently chatted with Angelina Kalahari, the well respected opera singer/vocal coach who is a die-hard Adam fan. (For those of you awaiting her next program on Adam's voice, she hasn't abandoned the idea. She is super busy with her own projects and with teaching and conducting vocal master classes. Several Adam-centered programs are still on her "to-do" list.) Some of the things she pointed out about his voice were: 1. Yes, it IS getting better and betterer. To be expected as men's voices continue to mature thru their mid 30's, and voices improve with frequent use (if used correctly and not screwed up with improper technique). But, at the same time, amazing considering how great it has always been. ETA: There are more and more harmonics in his voice, particularly in the lower frequencies that add richness. 2. The ringing clarity of Adam's voice is due to the way he focuses his sound in the "mask" or frontal part of the face and sinuses. It is classical, operatic technique, but Adam uses it consistently, even when singing pop and rock, soft or loud.
3. Adam has remarkable mastery of his instrument; as good or better than many opera singers. His technique is a master class in itself for singers everywhere. His control of tone, breathing, placement, phrasing, intensity, and pitch is amazing. We frequently say that his singing is "effortless", and it sure sounds that way. But, in reality, it is very hard work, requiring focus and energy and that technical mastery. She has remarked in one of her blogs that, after the London showcase for press where he sang just five songs, she hugged him and he was drenched with sweat from the energy expended. She could still feel the charge of that energy radiating from his body. He gives it his ALL, literally.
4. As a singer matures and grows emotionally, even experiencing difficult times, that growth and depth are reflected in his voice and in his performances.
Only another classically trained, highly trained singer can probably identify WHAT Adam is doing to sound so good, but we are all fortunate that we can HEAR the beauty and mastery. I am crossing fingers and toes that Angelina will find time fairly soon to write a definitive blog about Adam's voice. There is so much crap from so-called "experts" out there, I think Adam needs someone like Angelina to set the record straight.
What was so beautiful about last night was that non-experts, and non-fans could hear the difference in Adam's vocal performance vs. other very well regarded singers. He was in a different league from everyone else on the show. Plus he looked so happy, and was so proud of Angie, and she was so happy. Plus, the audience sound when he started to sign was so excited/warm/happy that the whole thing was a delight in an otherwise pretty uninspired show.

The duets with Angie starts about 1 hour into the show, after Amber's (4th place) performance.

www.allvoices.com/contributed-news/14630689-adam-lambert-dishes-on-new-daft-punk-album-playing-it-on-the-treadmill-every-chance-i-getAdam Lambert might have a successful career thanks to his start on American Idol, but it appears the star has kept focused on his path to success too. Sharing a moment on stage Thusday night during the American Idol Finale, the well-polished entertainer appears to have reminded the world just how talented he is when he hits the stage. Dishing on good music before the show, it appears he loves the new Daft Punk album too. Sharing his thoughts about an album that has the fans going crazy, Adam Lambert only gave the music big props as he loves it too. “I will be playing it on the treadmill every chance I get. That single was good…so good,” said Adam Lambert in front of Nokia Theater on Thursday afternoon. Some fans thought the entertainer should have been on the album as the music would have been perfect for some of his strong vocal skills. While Daft Punk and Adam Lambert have worked together, it’s been on his albums as the members of the group helped him make his latest music sound extraordinary. When hitting the stage on the American Idol Finale, it was obvious the star has grown as a performer. Willing to put emotion into the music, Adam Lambert didn’t hold back which made the performance so much better than others. Take a look at the video clip of Adam Lambert alking about his music. It sounds like he is in a really good place and the fans can’t wait to hear more! I have no clue what this means?!?
