I hope you are right, mys*&@^#r, and this is just the media. But I am skeptical. These executives are so far removed from the real world they see neither twitter followers, nor international appeal, nor variety of musical taste and competence. They just want to get a safe, non-scandalous panel right. They don't think any further than that. Yes, they are that stupid. And these top guns are afraid of Adam, because he generates buzz (both positive and negative). They see the one person that says, if Adam is judge I will not watch and they run for the hills. Clay is safe and Broadway and Standards, and they don't even have to change their present song catalog to meet him. Yes, they are incredibly short-sighted and I feel bad for Adam because he does not deserve one bit of this. Clay, who has sued the show and has been kicked out many times becomes judge and Adam who was Mr. Ambassador in all things idol gets to stand on the side lines. JHud declared that the show was done, and yet she signs on as judge. They have no pride left. I am so done with the level of ignorance and incompetence in every direction of this show, it is just not funny. I hope Karma will bite them in the butt. Back to Vienna, where things are a tad more pleasant for right now. Now YOU nailed it . I agree with everything you said . Let's just focus on Life Ball now , and the fact that we're getting to listen to and new AFL song tomorrow . Remember how much we had to wait for TRSP ? I think it's not happening now , we're hearing new music just two months (?) after WAG , and more new stuff will come along , trust me , Adam doesn't need iDoll , Adam doesn't need ANYBODY but his fans , his label , and ofc his family . New song tomorrow , GUYS !!! CHEER THE FUCK UP . Things are amazing actually , and I just don't understand that the Adam vs crayken Idle thing has overtaken the excitement . You know what ? I'm out .

lifeball.community-blogs.at/2013/05/24/life-ball-approachin-live-reporter-johann-vor-ort-am-rollfeld/Google Translation...... Life Ball approachin '- LIVE reporter Johann spot on tarmac 24th May 2013 Wake-up call: 05:15 clock. Finally, the first stars and starlets who have come for the Life Ball in Vienna came early in the Vienna-Schwechat airport. They have been duly received by the domestic media world - and we are right in the middle . Gery Keszler, Life Ball Head stylishly flared with a mini for the reception of guests onto the tarmac. While we passed the waiting time with pleasant conversation, Gery was the first interview of the day. His dog Mr. Brodmann remained relatively unaffected by all this: He carries his business on the red carpet and snaps at journalists. Probably the kid was just as cold as us. At 09:30 clock the Airbus ends up with the stars in Vienna - the pulse rose, and everyone tried to grab the best spot for photos and interviews. As the first left "I Dream of Jeannie" Barbara Eden the plane. Dazzling she looks with her 78 years. Gently she turned the interview - also totally welcomed me warmly. "Hi! How are you? Nice to be here. " An absolute highlight. Carmen Electra , who was mistaken by some journalists for the singer Fergie, responded super professional and friendly and said that she already really looking forward to the opening ceremony of the Life Ball. Diver and Olympic gold medalist Greg Louganis went on with his puppy and said jokingly that he actually get along better with animals than with people. Even Adam Lambert , the singer of the official Life Ball song was one of the party. In addition to the aforementioned dance also many other colorful personalities on the red carpet - most already in oriental outfit, which increased the anticipation for tomorrow again. I had a great room on the tarmac and was able to speak personally and shoot great photos with many of the celebrities I can also hardly wait to see them there all morning on the ball again. We'll keep you informed!

Clay is NOT safe! He probably has more haters than Adam! And Nicki wasn't safe and they picked her.

I'm finding this somewhat hard to believe. It usually takes months to settle these contracts, since not only does salary need to be negotiated, but also the extras like wardrobe allowance, dressing room (e.g. "how big is my trailer gonna be?"), etc. So unless they started negotiating with JHud months ago, this "news" seems a bit premature to me. Or maybe I'm just in denial. I'm not a fan of JHud. I don't enjoy the way she sings -- she's like a vocal sledgehammer. I loved her in "Dreamgirls", but haven't been impressed by anything else she has done. But maybe she will surprise me and be a scintillating judge. At least I hope so, or I'm going to be doing a lot of fast-forwarding again next season. Unlike most others, I feel the Idol judges will be announced early this season. No later than July, IMO. Why? They have to show their advertisers that they are doing some serious revamping!! I think JHud could sign quickly if they matched the money she wanted, why not? And that THR article the other day, by Shirley, about Kelly.... I believe that Shirley wrote about what she knows at the moment. However, I believe that Norvil (Kelly's manager) is just playing hardball and trying to get Kelly a lot of money. IMO, she deserves it! She is the reason the show took off. If Kelly had failed, the show would have last maybe 2 seasons. And this past 18 months have the best of her career! You may very well be right -- Idol might start announcing judges as early as July. But it is still only May, and S12 ended a week ago, so it seems a bit early to have someone formally signed at this point. I have a few friends who have worked at TV networks, and they've told me that these kind of negotiations never go quickly. The contracts are long and detailed and there is a lot of money at stake (not just salaries); and of course, some folks will nitpick over every little item, down to the brand of bottled water that needs to be their trailer every day. Lol. And I think FOX is looking to pay judges a lot less money this year. Over at the XFactor, the 3 female judges are making only $1-2 million each (according to the Hollywood Reporter). Idol's ratings are higher than XFactor's, but I still think FOX will want to pay a lot less for judges than they did in S13. So, Kelly might not even be an option, if her manager is angling for big dollars. But, of course, anything is possible. If FOX already knew that they wanted to sweep away the entire judging panel back in April and started approaching possible replacements then, maybe JHud is closer to signing a formal contract (as opposed to a letter of intent, as Q3 pointed out) than I think.

There's no point in being outraged by the huge injustice done to Adam until we know for sure that a huge injustice has been done to Adam. I have seen no verification that Clay has been signed or is being considered with any more seriousness than Adam is. I'll be the first in line with the torches and pitchforks if Clay is chosen, but I'm not going to get my blood pressure up until I have reason to do so.

Interesting Ratings Numbers. This is from MJ's Big Blog
May sweeps ended on Wednesday, effectively ending the 2012-2013 television season. Here’s how the numbers shook out. In reality tv, The Voice reigns as the top singing competition over American Idol in terms of the key 18-49 demo. American Idol had more total viewers overall. The ranking is a little deceiving, however, considering that The Voice 4 season is not over–the finale airs on June 18. Numbers have been steadily declining in the past couple of weeks for the newbie singing competition. I’d be really curious to see a comparison after the season is complete. TOP REALITY SHOW | 18-49 DEMO 1 | The Voice (Monday), NBC (5.1) 2 | American Idol (Wednesday), Fox (4.6) 3 | The Voice (Tuesday), NBC (4.6) 4 | American Idol (Thursday), Fox (4.3) 5 | Survivor: Philippines, CBS (3.5) In Total Viewers | American Idol (Wednesday), Fox (15 million) There are more lists, including for comedy and drama at TV Line
*************** Comment, by me: The Voice ratings are in a major slide right now. It is always the blind auditions, at the beginning of the season, that have the highest viewers. Then they drop over the season. There is more than a good possibility that when The Voice is finished, Idol will be ahead of it.

Sorry - I really don't see the need for angst today. I'm going to enjoy Life Ball, and we will have plenty of time to worry about Idol judge choices later - probably for the next few months!
