A celebrity could be actually yet another look in oriental costume: U.S. singer and full-time bird of paradise Adam Lambert (center). As a nature lover/birder and an ardent Adam fan - I say Yes - Adam is definitely a full-time bird of paradise. Remember his lines from "My Conviction" in Hair: "...There is a peculiar notion that elegant plumage and fine feathers are not proper for the man - when actually, that is the way things are in most species." You go, Adam!

Adam may be the human equivalent of a bird of paradise, but yesterday I think he looked more like a peacock. Photo from National Geographic article: animals.nationalgeographic.com/animals/birds/peacock/His costume really was breath-taking. I'm only guessing here, but one of his friends makes hats and feather head-pieces (so sorry, but I've forgotten her name), and I think it is possible that she made the turban. Also, maybe it's only me, but I think the design on the front of the turban looks like the face of a bird. And thanks to everyone who posted all of the photos and videos. Such a fun performance and a beautiful event!

Adam Lambert Debuts New Song in Exotic Outfit at Life Ball www.hngn.com/articles/3686/20130526/adam-lambert-debuts-new-song-exotic-outfit-life-ball.htm Adam part: Singer Adam Lambert showed his predilection for glamour by donning an exotically sparkling turban (with a plume in it for extra effect) for his performance during the 2013 Life Ball in Vienna on Saturday. The song he was singing was a new one, ironically called "Love Wins Over Glamour". "Thrilled to be a part of Life Ball! The theme is 1001 Nights and I am playing 'Ali Baba' singing a song written exclusively for the event!" tweeted Lambert pre-event. Though quite the fashion chameleon following his success post "American Idol" in 2009, Lambert was probably just sticking to the brief of the AIDS charity event this time around, like he says.
