By Susan Denley May 30, 2013, 8:03 a.m. Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine spent a lot of time Wednesday explaining his muttered "I hate this country" after two of his team members were eliminated on "The Voice" Tuesday night. In his own defense, he said that he really does loves the country but spoke in frustration. And he tweeted that it was a joke. And a misunderstanding. [Los Angeles Times] I'm sure Levine does have a sense of humor. And so does another singing Adam, Adam Lambert, based on the costume he wore as he got into the spirit of things at the Life Ball, a costume gala in Vienna, Austria, that is Europe's largest fund-raiser for AIDS/HIV charities. The theme was "1,001 Arabian Nights," and Lambert definitely played the part when he performed. [Fashionista]

Hmm...not sure about the Melvis, but there is no denying he is one gorgeous man. I think his eyes are even more beautiful without the makeup.

starcrush.com/adam-lambert-adam-levine-voice-controversy/?trackback=twitter_topADAM LAMBERT WRITES A WRY LOVE NOTE TO AMERICA AFTER ADAM LEVINE’S ‘VOICE’ COMMENTARYby Cassandra Rose May 30, 2013 11:13 AM On Tuesday night (May 28), ‘The Voice‘ mentor Adam Levine saw two of his team’s contestants voted off the show by viewers, causing him to mutter “I hate this country” — something that caused a major ish-storm when it was picked up by microphones. In response to this, former ‘American Idol‘ contestant (and current judge hopeful) Adam Lambert — whose name is often confused with Levine’s — had a little fun with the controversy. Of course Levine was just voicing his frustration with the way viewers voted, not the entire country, but because it doesn’t take much to offend some people, he’s had to engage in a public tour of contrition to appease those who called for his firing from ‘The Voice.’ Some even hilariously wanted him deported (which, you know, isn’t an option for an American citizen like Levine). As Levine told Us Weekly, “I obviously love my country very much and my comments were made purely out of frustration [and] personal dissatisfaction with the [voting] results.” He also wrote a whole series of tweets to school the humorless and the too-literal. The day after Levine uttered those infamous words, the always-mischievous Lambert poked fun at the constant confusion between them and wrote: Adam Lambert ✔ @adamlambert I love this country! 2:10 PM - 29 May 2013 Some of his followers were confused by the seemingly out-of-the-blue proclamation, but others knew exactly where it came from: The Spindleshay @thespindleshay “@adamlambert: I love this country!” <--- how to tell the difference between lambert and levine lol 2:12 PM - 29 May 2013 more..

As we cheer for Titamium to get to 500,000 views, has anyone noticed how the Life Ball clip is doing? The first one posted/referred to has over 107,000 views, the HD one has 29,000+ views, and other postings of the performance each have views in the thousands. I am thinking Adam's total is about 150,000 views of that performance. Yay, Adam!!

So many accolades above from writers who appreciate Adam's talent as much as we do, but as others have similarly mentioned, the line in the Billboard article about Trespassing and Kickin In being "megahits in a fairer pop universe" made me sad. Sometimes I wonder which is a tougher battle for superstardom for Adam, the fact that he is gay or the fact that he was on AI. The female AI alumni seem to have had a little easier time gaining widespread mainstream acceptance. In fact, although Kelly, Carrie and Jennifer were everywhere on the Grammys the last few years, I can't think of another man from Idol who is a household name. Its a double edged sword. Adam has himself said many times that without Idol he would never have been given a record deal because of his sexuality. Unfortunately, in an industry where vocal talent should matter above all else, it often doesn't matter very much at all. This pisses me off, but at least I can say that although they're also not related to his voice, his good looks and charisma have been good for his career! As much as it makes me cringe with jealousy to say this, I think P2 is on his way to becoming a household name. Why? Because I can't turn around without hearing his songs and from what I have been reading, he is getting international interest/gigs (England, France, Rock in Rio). He has a smash hit, another possible one on its way, and a soon-to-be platinum album. He has achieved success outside of the bubble. At a recent family gathering, "Home" came on the TV, and people starting singing along and my 20 something niece was saying "Oooh, I love this song". I recently got together with girlfriends I had not seen in years, and one of them started flailing about P2 much in the same way I do over Adam. None of them give Adam the time of day. IMO, Adam lost some credibility by not getting a platinum album in the US, which is still the #1 market. At least that is the most prevalent comment I see when haters try to assert that he is a flop. They don't care about international sales. Can't tell you how many times I've seen comments that Scotty is more successful than Adam merely because he has a platinum album. Almost platinum is just not good enough. And I think he could have easily gotten it had Cumulus stations added his songs the same time everyone else did. WWFM could have easily been a smash and IIHY could have at least been platinum, which would have fueled sales for the album. With two big hit singles, he would not be perceived by some as a one hit wonder (another thing haters like to bring up although not technically true) and I think PDs would have been more likely to play him during the TP era. Of course it didn't help that the choices of singles weren't the best but I heard some mediocre songs become hits just because they were played over and over again just based on who the artist was. Anyway, JMHO, YMMV.

I've never been super crazy about the facial hair, but those are great pictures! And I LOVE Adam natural without the makeup. It makes him look so much younger. Is he even wearing ANY foundation (I see freckles)? His skin looks amazing. Looks way better than mine.

He's so gorgeous. I saw people on twitter complaining about Melvin but it is hard to care when he looks soooo gorgeous. I love what he is wearing (especially compared to the people he's with). Gah, he looks good. I had a dream last night and there was someone named Melvin. I think I asked someone "so who was the killer?" and they said "Melvin." haha
