cayman said: Your post made me log in and post...........seriously........for all that believe using the "Fuck off" is NOT the appropriate visual approach to get the message across...........work in the middle school environment, VERY APPROPRIATE! This is what talks to the kids today.
I am still not convinced that we should promote it! I have found myself using the F word more frequently because it is becoming such a part of our culture. (thank goodness, my teenager calls me out) I also think people seem angrier. It is more acceptable to express anger in public, even to total strangers. I feel it in myself. I do not relish the idea of having 5 years old going around flipping people off and saying fuck you when they don't get their way.
I am sorry I will not buy into the "appropriate"-ness of this message. We have to teach our children other ways to deal with it. Believe me, I am no prude, I would just like to invision a more civil, educated world. It is unfortunate that we have come to accept some (not all) middle schooler's crass behavior as the norm. I don't think it should be modeled.
The thing I liked about Adam's "It Get Better" message is that he chose not to emphasize victimhood. Find your support group. Maybe don't take things so personally. Your worth comes from within not what others tell you. At least that is what I got out of it.
Wow, unless things have changed radically in the past couple of years I sent my kids to the right middle/high schools.

midwifespal enjoyed your story. Yes kid's need to be taught to stand up for themselves when the situation arises. I know why my middle school age son resisted peer pressure and continued to use his uncool rolling back pack. I saw him wielding it one day at a couple of kids giving him a hard time!

I work for a University and I believe things have changed radically in the past few years but not entirely for the worse. Yes, casual language is now filled with words and expressions that were totally taboo until recently. But I find that the students are amazingly capable and creative -- although they have major gaps in cultural knowledge that are sometimes surprising and very few actually read books -- ever. JMHO I think that for these photos and the use of the expression The F Word is just fine for middle schoolers' most of whom probably watch Family Guy or other TV programs with much more adult content. Forget about the Web.

Dear Kamar, Please don't worry about expressing your honest feelings --the fact that this is such a genuine place is what drew me to Adamtopia in the first place. .We all have those "down times", even our Adam. Several years ago, I was housebound in a wheel chair for 6 months following ankle surgery. I can't begin to tell you how uplifting it was to follow Adam's GNT tour each day-and how it helped me overcome feelings of isolation and physical pain. I never feel stupid following Adam Lambert's professional journey and the personal aspects of his life he chooses to share with us. My daughter stopped criticizing me years ago when I looked at her and simply said, "He makes me happy." Like you, I have many blessings in my life that enrich me and bring fulfillment--but Adam is my special secret joy that I share with all of you and I know I'm fortunate to embrace this man with the beautiful voice and loving heart. I am thinking of you and hoping you will be on the "upswing" very soon. And ---a big thank you to all of you who have sent me such warm welcomes ; I feel a little overwhemed-- like Adam must have felt all those times he was greeted by fans in airports all over Asia following his trips oversea!. Beautifully said. "He makes me happy", too. I've stopped trying to figure out why this man brings me so much joy. He just does. Welcome! Beautiful words my Atop friends "Adam makes me happy"- that's it. Lorraine, thank you for those heartfelt words for Kamar. My feelings are exactly same. Kamar, you are a young girl and I'm a 68 year old grandmother and Adam has the power to make both of us happy. His voice, beauty and worm heart are a gift for us

rpeura!
You own good heart! In addition, you own something unique, which many of us do not have: a picture of you together with Adam, pressing your head against his chest. So sweet!!!
