Catz! So good to see you here. Whenever I see your name I think of Queenbert....best times ever! ![]() I know right! It still seems like a dream and I have to pinch myself that it really happened. I'm still #dazedandconfused by the whole trip tbh ![]() One of the best things for me was finally putting faces to internet names from all around the world - your lovely, lovely self included From the bestest tour guide ever in Russia ( JanuarySnow), having lunch with Mr and Mrs momtomany and others alongside Red Square, meeting up with fellow glamberts in the town square in friggin' Wroclaw, Poland of all places (no disrespect to Poland intended here - but it's one place I never, EVAH expected to go to...lol), to the unbelievable events in London and the memorable, one of a kind, Atop party, chatting to Neil like he was my bff 8-) (hey I was on flu meds and drunk), Sauli asking me to take a pic of him and friends, then on to catch up and stay in NYC with the lovely Nica for a second time (albeit briefly this time :() and then on to the never.to.be.forgotten ride from LAX to Fantasy Springs with the one and only fabulous GrandDuchess. ![]()
There are so many stories and ~moments that vecadam and I went through together on that trip. Hey Ves, remember our hours late (after missing our plane from Warsaw) arrival in Wroclaw??? Me sitting on a cobblestoned street at a café in the pouring rain and lighting at midnight with all our luggage while I watched you disappear down the road into the night of a strange city, clutching a map and in pursuit of the keys to our apartment comes to mind. Gawd that was a day and a half girl ![]() #memories
I met soooooo.... many of you from here and twitter (tooooooooooooooo.... many to name individually) and it was such a mind blowing buzz which has given me beautiful memories to treasure for the rest of my life ![]() Honestly, I was looked out for, loved and taken care of by Adam's beautiful fans around the world. Y'all the best! It's incredible to think that the ONLY time in the entire month that I was without fellow Adamites was my three day journey to Paris after London and before New York. The one and only time I was entirely by myself, which was kind of a scary thing to do, but so proud that I did it and lurved it. Paris was fab \o/ Oh..... and Queenbert/FS was pretty damn fucking good too!!!!!!!!!  ![]()  tl:dr *hits submit* |

Anyway, after the tour I dated our drummer for a bit, and he invited me to meet his mom at one point and go to her church, since they helped support him during the tour. I said sure, and then he nervously said "my mom's church is the MCC (Metropolitan Community Church)" and then he waited for my response. I just said "cool! I've never been to an MCC congregation before and I've wanted to visit". He visibly relaxed at that point and then told me about his mom -- and her female partner. Now, this was long enough ago that having a lesbian partner in the group we toured with was ... um... pretty much not talked about and/or didn't happen. This leads me to say something about the MCC, which is a protestant mainstream Christian denomination that was started by gay folks who felt unwelcome in other Christian churches and started their own denomination. There are many MCC churches around now, but there weren't too many when I visited way back when with Dave and his mom. They are a devout family who just happen to be gay--and although Dave thought I would probably be accepting, it's sad when I look back that he wasn't sure if I would accept his family. I admire the MCC and the work they do--and it was very cool to see Adam pictured with the pastor a few days ago! Two parts of my history coming together, in a way. The MCC church I went to was in LA, by the way. |

Ack, and now I gotta go back to RL again :( I hardly ever have time to play here these days (so far behind) and only lurk twitter from time to time to keep me up to speed with what HBIC is up to - which is plenty tbh ![]() - even tho it's supposed to be the ~quiet time. I will just patiently wait for new music when he deems it is ready and enjoy the ride till then. |
