Adam Lambert Wins a Dream Date With Joan Rivers on 'Fashion Police'

The "American Idol" alum participated in "Joan's Mating Game" for the comedian's 80th birthday episode.
E!’s Fashion Police celebrated Joan Rivers’ birthday week (the icon turned 80 on Saturday, June 8) with a touch of glam, as the birthday girl scored the ultimate present: a dream date with Adam Lambert.
Lambert, who joined the comedienne as part of the show’s “Joan Week,” competed with comedian Gilbert Gottfried and basketball player Darius Morris for a special edition of “Joan’s Mating Game.” The host had to choose between the three gentlemen, despite her warning that she was “old and dry.”
Each “contestant” was asked the same question: where would they take Rivers on a “dream date”? And each man put his best foot forward.
Gottfried promised he would take the host to a “diner where we can watch the pies roll around.”
“Money is so object since I won’t be bringing any,” he asserted.
Morris took a more romantic approach. The L.A. Lakers stud promised a trip on a yacht, with “champagne and chocolate covered strawberries” to round out the evening.
Lambert, however, pulled out the big guns: a shopping spree at Barneys, with the “entire store to ourselves.”
“We would be sipping champagne, caviar, we would shop the day away,” said the American Idol alum, sporting a stylish mustache for the occasion. “I would take you to get a facial, dermabrasion, a peel, makeup done, hair set -- buy you anything you want.”
And if that weren’t enough, the American Idol alum threw in a “sneak peek of a never before seen Broadway show,” where he would then tuck Rivers in and they would both “fall asleep watching Fashion Police.”
The other two bachelors didn’t stand a chance.
“We are going to have so much fun on our date,” said Lambert, a self-professed “Joan Ranger.”
Rivers also received birthday greetings from Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Johnny Weir, Heidi Klum and Fergie, who surprised the host by smashing a birthday cake in her face.

Joan Rivers turned 80 years old on Saturday (June 8)! Happy belated birthday Joan!
Over the weekend, Adam was seen spending some time at Bootsy Bellows in West Hollywood.
This month is Pride month, so make sure to help Adam raise money for Live Proud and the Trevor Project, which provides crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to LGBT youth.

While Adam Lambert didn't make his sexuality a major talking point while competing on "American Idol" -- he later came out in a "Rolling Stone" cover story -- "Idol" viewers and fans at home knew there was something special about the flamboyant contestant. Lambert was out in his personal and professional life well before he hit the "Idol" stage and made his mark as the contestant to watch. On the show, he fired up audiences with his glam rock stylings, sexed-up stage persona and multi-octave range. Though he finished the 2009 season of "Idol" in second place, he remained the season's breakout star and has since worked to become a role model for LGBT teens.
