Bruce Robert Harris--Tony award-winning producer. Adam is meeting a number of producers (recent photos). Is this NYC trip more than a vacation to see old friends, shows, lovers, etc. Maybe he is working more angles for the future. |

I had the best intentions of staying and working at school today, but I think "let down" has struck. My head was spinning, so I came home. Maybe I'll nap or watch the Pittsburgh videos.

I realize that everyone wants CDs & DVDs right away. And if you know how to download audio/video from YouTube and convert to CD &/or DVD, you are certainly welcome to do so. But please be aware that I am working on getting you something that will likely be much better quality than what you can do from the YouTube downloads. So I hope that when I get them done you will pick up the new stuff even if you have already made your own. I'm just learning how to do the audio editing and the more sophisticated video editing as needed. I just learned an important lesson last night when trying to convert the audio from the video into mp3 files. I had boosted the audio on the video to full-scale and now I read that doing this can cause some distortion in the mp3 conversion - and I learned it the hard way! I should have boosted the audio to less than full-scale to give the mp3 converters some "room" to do their thing. So, since I am such a perfectionist, I will go back and do it right before posting mp3 files. In Vulcan (LOL) for those that under stand the language:  I boosted the audio up to full scale, i.e., so that the peaks in the waveform just hit 0 dB (audio waves are in the negative dB). But some of the compression algorithms (mp3 converters, etc.) adjust the volume a little bit, pushing the peaks over 0 dB, resulting in distortion since everything over 0 dB gets clipped. I couldn't believe that Audacity was one of those software programs that would introduce the clipping in this scenario. So I need to go back and adjust the volume to peak at a little below 0 dB, say -1 dB, before converting to other formats. Live ling and prosper everyone!
