Beauty and the Beast Star Dane Agostinis Dishes About Impressing Tom Cruise and Living with Adam Lambert INTERVIEWS By Jesse North November 14, 2011 fortlauderdale.broadway.com/buzz/158567/beauty-and-the-beast-star-dane-agostinis-dishes-about-impressing-tom-cruise-and-living-with-adam-lambert/
What's your Adam Lambert connection? You replaced him in a show called Debbie Does Dallas? Yes, this is before he was the Adam Lambert. I was fresh out of school [New York University’s Tisch School for the Arts/CAP21], and one of my teachers had a connection to someone in the production of Debbie Does Dallas in Lake Tahoe. They needed a replacement because the guy who was doing it, Adam Lambert, was leaving to do Wicked.
So there was overlap with Lambert? Adam took a week to teach me the role, and I lived with him for that week. They had us in these cool lodges out in Lake Tahoe. We performed five or six nights a week at 10pm, so we had pretty much the entire day to do what we wanted. When I learned I got the role in New York, my music theory teacher wanted to go over the music with me, so I would be prepared. We tackled it in the way that Adam Lambert—lungs of steel and voicebox of gold—can sing it. I was like, "This is not going to happen. Let’s make some tweaks"’ They were fine with that, and I got to do the role in my own way.

I think this is Adam's first BROADWAY performance. Am I forgetting anything? Didn't Adam do two GNT shows on Broadway??? Do they count??I know they were in a theater near or on Broadway.. HMMM A concert would not be a Broadway production on Broadway. Adam did have two concerts (June 22, 2010 and June 23, 2010) in the Nokia Theater NY. [Now the Best Buy Theater.] It is at the corner of Broadway and 44th street -- and in the Theater District (AKA "Broadway"). But the Nokia Theater is a converted movie theater not a theatrical venue. The orchestra section is General Admission standing room with seat at the back of the theater. It is set up for concerts and multimedia events. Playing there would not be considered "performing on Broadway". The SSB performance was in a theatrical production, on Broadway. Much to my surprise, there is not one definition of the New York Theater District. From Wiki: The City of New York defines the subdistrict for zoning purposes to extend from 40th Street to 57th Street and from Sixth Avenue to Eighth Avenue, with an additional area west of Eighth Avenue from 42nd Street to 45th Street. Google Maps indicates 52nd Street rather than 57th to be its northern boundary. The Times Square Alliance, a Business Improvement District organization dedicated to improving the Theater District, defines the district as an irregularly shaped area within the bounding box of 40th Street, 6th Ave, 53rd Street, and 9th Ave. The Great White Way is the name given to the section of Broadway which runs through the Theater District.ETA: Roseland Ballroom is in the Theater District but like the Nokia is not really a theatrical venue. And it was just a one-day run. I guess I will have to wait to say "Adam has played Broadway".

Netiri @_izla_zandzz 3h You hear lots of divas using grace notes as vocal virtuoso bling. Adam doesn't do that. He's making texture, emphasis, drama, power. STORY!
I agree 1000%!

Broadway Bares 23: United Strips of America was the latest iteration of the long-running burlesque review benefiting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. It was an especially star-studded night at Roseland Ballroom, from executive producer Jerry Mitchell to an on-stage (though non-striptease) appearance by Kinky Boot‘s other Tony winner, Billy Porter. Popping up in the audience were A list gays like Adam Lambert and Andy Cohen, while Broadway veteran Chris Sieber (Spamalot) emceed the event but didn’t hesitate to strip down to leather pants and a harness for one particularly risque number.
