Start prepping those mashed potatoes ...  I would hold off on the mashed potatoes -- or at least make a very small portion. They were 2 of the 8 producers. Here is the list: Produced by Barbara Bialkowski .... producer Carolina Elias .... associate producer Emily Harper .... coordinating producer Jesse Ignjatovic .... executive producer Rick Krim .... executive producer Rickey Minor .... executive producer Evan Prager .... executive producer Lee Rolontz .... executive producer Are any of these folks holdovers from "Old Idol"? I see Rickey Minor's name. Is he coming back to Idol when Leno leaves? He has been an Adam supporter. |

Must say that article about the Divas producers joining the Idol team has given me new hope....even though it goes on to suggest that an all alum panel might be shelved, and while his name has been brandied about, Adam hasn't been formally approached.... Adam was effin' BRILLIANT hosting DIVAS and I think most everyone noticed! *eyes mashed potatoes* LOL I feel the opposite. Because of the comment about the all Idol panel possibly being shelved, along with the fact that these guys seem to love all the bells & whistles and seem like they would (AGAIN!) be willing to spend big bucks to get the so-called "big names". I hope your take is the right one though. I hope this not for myself because I am ambivalent about it. I hope it happens for Adam! And - I'm not a big fan of mashed potatoes.  |

OK, so the new producers for Idol just happened to be the 2 executive producers for DIVAS 2012, just saying!  t.co/Dm6eZtDdlqI haven't read any further in the thread, so someone else may have already mentioned this. These 2 producers have a production company named Den of Thieves which is represented by CAA. Adam is on CAA's Touring Rooster...so the CAA connection may also be a factor. And Adam has 2 videos, from DIVAS, on page one of the Den of Theives site! Jazz, we know that Adam was considered as a judge last year when the all Idol panel wasn't even thought of. So, I do not think Adam being a judge depends on an all Idol panel. The part about the all Idol panel was regurgitated from an old article. BUT, I find the addition of the word "formally" to the quote about Adam interesting! Also, looks to me like FOX is spending big for behind the scenes people. That might leave less for judges. I still think Adam is solidly in the running.  |

Haha! Yeah, I agree with you (Jazz) on the last part....kinda ambivalent about Idol myself, but Adam has said he'd love the job so I want it for him. If he was offered it and turned it down, I'd be fine.
....but seeing lesser mortals (Clay!??) get a slot would make me stabby!!

Adam is always putting himself out there. Let's go to NYC to give Charl some love re: his Tony nomination. Ooh, I want to see some plays. Ooh, I want to see some more plays. Everyone says, Adam, you need to stay in town for Broadway Bares. I think I will. Hmmm. Adam is in town, and the boy was outspoken about singers who can sing re: Le Miz. Adam has been doing high profile pride events/benefits. Maybe he would be a nice surprise. Adam attends rehearsal with Charl & other friends. Hey, Adam, want to sing? Only if it fits with the show. by the way, Charl, et. al. say to TPTB, have you heard him belt out the SSB? No, he doesn't need instruments/music, so it would be easy to fit him in. (quick run to Alexander McQueen) The rest is history. I think we all try to form a story or picture how something may have happened. It's perfectly normal. Until recently, I would have seen it your way, too. (I should say that unless Adam tells us how it came to be, everything is really only conjecture.) Anyway, these days I believe there is much more work and behind the scenes planning involved in most of what seem to be just fortunate opportunities for Adam. I keep thinking of the Burning Man revelation that Adam told Rolling Stone and later said was apocryphal. No matter the source or circumstance, the realization was real. |

Having said that, MY gut feeling is that the arrival of the sports guy at the top and the Swedish guy brought Adam's chances waaaay down. I'll leave it at that.....  As I said before - whatever happens will be the BEST OUTCOME IN THE LONG RUN. (like not having been the judge on AI 12 was a real blessing.) |
