Hi Holst - Re: Gaga and the anthem. Every singer I've heard since forever tries to go high at that spot. Most can't do it, or do a terrible job. Gaga was good, but I think Adam was better :-) And I understand why she changed the words, just not a fan of that kind of thing. I would really prefer it just be done as written, but then it's not my favorite piece of music, anyway.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=DpMo_2VL74A&feature=youtu.be
Note: AFL got off the stage to touch fans in song PTL & Fever. You can see I got crushed on really hard and lost the balance holding camera still. Yes, I got bruises. But I had a blast, that was what really matters.

I'd say minimum 3000, max 5000. Based on 25 people front row in this pic (approx 1/3 of stage?) and 20 deep back to the sound stage so minimum 1500 in front of the soundstage. If it's 30 people deep to the soundstage then 2250 in front of the sound stage. All guesses of course but it looks massive. I don't know where this crowd shot came from but it can't be the Adam concert. I was front row and the black barriers in this picture are not the barriers we had. For one thing they kind of zig zag and the barrier across the front of the stage at Universal was absolutely straight and had mesh panels not solid. Also there were little platforms on the stage side of the barriers which is what Adam stood on when he went to the fence and as much as people are bitching about people groping his butt they were also balancing him because with the crowd shoving from behind they would have knocked him right off the fence. Also straight out from the stage was a street an across that street was a cafe with tables and umbrellas not a line of trees like in the picture. You're right that pic must have been old. Didn't he do a Six Flags one time? Waterslide in the background, not Universal. There was a good crowd shot below last night from the UniversalInformer, doesn't look like it's as big of an area as the other.

There was an interesting article in the NYT a couple of days ago by a songwriter that talks about the stage and how it is used. It is a multi-faceted discussion but the part that stuck with me is: What Do You Reveal Onstage? By SUZANNE VEGA Of course everything relates back to Adam but I wondered if she had ever seen Adam on stage because there is no doubt that he is NOT thinking about his laundry. He really leaves everything of himself on that stage and he connects it with you. His stage is a powerful place. opinionator.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/06/28/what-do-you-reveal-onstage/?partner=rss&emc=rss&_r=0I loved Suzanne Vega. I knew her songs by heart. She is an English literature major, amazing song writer. She uses metaphore here, most probably:) Don't have time now to read the whole thing, but Adam and she are so different... like Sun and Moon. Adam is the Sun. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I am going to cross my fingers now and try to post. What I need to say is: I LOVED ADAM IN ORLANDO AND I AM SO VERKLEMPT THAT I NEED TO WRITE ABOUT IT. Maybe I'll be able to post it, Atop's been messing with me big time. Not only was I unable to log in, I couldn't even open the forum a few times. My poor mouse was the unsuspecting victim of my frustration. Got a new one. Atop's still wonky. Butterknife, thank you SO MUCH for the stream, and that amazing full set video!!! [kissy smiley here, three times:)))] Okay, here goes...

Looks pretty packed! Don't know how they could have crammed many more people in there. Aside from the amazing vocals I'm so impressed with his laid-back, relaxed demeanor and the casual fun banter! He looks so damn happy! I don't expect to see any more comments about "sad, unhappy eyes" on his twitter feed for awhile.

aleksandrakv, I hope you can get in long enough to post your thoughts ... can't wait to read them. I also hope mouse 2.0 survives. After reading your response to the article I posted, I wasn't sure if I had made myself totally clear that the article just reminded me of Adam because, well, everything reminds me of Adam in some way. Anyway, I posted the following disclaimer above the previous post.
ETA: I AM NOT SURE I WAS CLEAR WHEN I FIRST POSTED THIS BUT THE ARTICLE IS NOT ABOUT ADAM AT ALL, IT IS ABOUT STAGECRAFT, IT IS JUST THAT I THINK ABOUT ADAM EVERY TIME I READ SOMETHING LIKE THIS.
