Vocal superstar, #1 Billboard album chartist, Grammy nominee and LGBT role-model & activist Adam Lambert has been a longtime supporter of the Trevor Project. The Trevor Project partnered with AT&T to sponsor the Live Proud campaign which culminated in a $50,000 donation to fund a texting program to support LGBTQ youth. Adam celebrated the Live Proud campaign with a private event in Hollywood, CA on July 3, 2013. Adam delivered a passionate, inspiring, and celebratory performance, turning the Playhouse Nightclub into the ultimate dance party.

"I want to encourage LGBTQ youth to live proud and let their voice be heard," said Lambert. "Whether it's changing a status on Facebook or kissing in public, live free."

The Trevor Project is the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to LGBTQ youth. In addition to operating the only national crisis lifeline for LGBTQ teens and young adults, The Trevor Project offers unique suicide prevention services to youth in digital spaces, including counseling via instant message through TrevorChat and the largest online social network specifically for young LGBTQ people, TrevorSpace.

AT&T and The Trevor Project will work to enhance Trevor's communications and improve outreach to LGBTQ youth in crisis.

Singer performs 10 songs at event in Hollywood

Adam Lambert agreed to perform three songs at Tuesday night's Trevor Project and AT&T’s Live Proud Campaign.

He performed 10.

The Grammy Award nominated American Idol runner-up dazzled the crowd at Playhouse Hollywood with such hits as Whaddaya Want From Me.

Among those in the crowd was Extra co-host Mario Lopez.

Lambert, 31, is an ambassador for the organization, which is the national leader suicide prevention among LGBT youth. He cheered the recent US Supreme Court ruling that gutted a key portion of the Defense of Marriage Act and killed California's Proposition 8.

'The younger generation doesn't always feel like you have to label yourself, because they feel like we're moving past it. But the older generation is like, "But wait! We fought so hard for this!'"' Lambert told Yahoo.com.

'So I think the two sides having a dialogue is a big step in trying to kind of get to the next place, which is a post-gay reality,' he added. 'We're not there yet...but we're on our way!'

Ar The Live Proud event, AT&T presented a $50,000 check to the Trevor Project.

Lambert performed several songs including Bob Marley's Is This Love and Jimi Hendrix's Purple Haze.

Adam Lambert’s ‘Idol’ Season 8 Streaker Returns!

Back on "American Idol" Season 8, an intrepid, turquoise-brassiered fan bumrushed Adam Lambert's homecoming performance at Mt. Carmel High School in San Diego. In case those 35 seconds of TV gold aren't still seared into your brain, here's the footage again:



And four years later, that girl is still on a hot streak, so to speak, stripping and stage-rushing for Adam. Such is the loyalty of the Glambert fanbase.

Adam was performing at the Del Mar Country Fair in the San Diego area on Tuesday, July 2, when during "For Your Entertainment" a bra-flaunting girl sprinted across the stage and high-fived him.

Even more entertaining? It was in fact the very same streaker from 2009, Katelyn Greathouse. It actually seemed like Adam might have recognized the girl (he said something along the lines of "she didn’t take her top off this time" after she made her run). But whether or not he did remember Katelyn, he certainly didn't seem unhappy to see her, brightly shouting "HI!!! " and quipping, "That was cool!" — but otherwise not missing a beat of the song.

Katelyn's return-to-the-scene-of-the-crime cameo comes in around the 1:20 mark below:

Later she posted, "Tonight felt so unreal, yet I felt so alive!"

A couple months ago, on "Adam Lambert Appreciation Day" (yes, it's a holiday, people), Katelyn uploaded some photos of the original Mt. Carmel High incident, revealing that she "got suspended for the week then put on this homeschooling thing for the rest of the year so I wouldn't cause distractions hahah tmz wanted to interview me but the school said no and kept me in the office."

Looks like Katelyn — and Adam — got the last laugh this week.
