Did we see this poncho photo?  Woah!! What a stark contrast between this photo and the ones from Grammy night. It kinda shocked me, after basking in the gorgeousness of Glammy night pics. I'm gonna say Woah!! too but from a different point of view!! I am irrevocably on #teamlonghair and think he looks fantastic with long hair. Plus, long hair goes very well with leather.  And thanks, lynneville, had not seen this one before!  |

Since it is kind of slow here tonight, I am posting something I have been thinking about. I think part of Adam's new cleaner look may be strategy on his part. I think this may have been touched upon a few days ago, but only as it related to music. I believe he glammed down a little to draw in new fans (and that gorgeous grammy look will certainly do that), but I think he is also trying to show advertisers and hollywood that he can go against the stereotype that they have hung on him. As always, he is doing the unexpected and I think it just may win him that acting role he has been wanting. Just something else for us to ponder over in the long hours til we have new music. THIS !! Sad to say, some still have not let go of the AMAs ! :( A LOT have not let go of the AMA's. At least, around here they haven't and never will. Just a fact of a good portion of Alabama life. They will NEVER give Adam a second look or listen after that performance  |

They will NEVER give Adam a second look or listen after that performance I understand what you are saying, I have a friend who can't seem to let this go as well, but I think what Adam is doing, is more or less reinventing himself. I think he is creating a rock star persona that will almost be separate. Not sure if I am articulating this the way I want. But he is creating a new image that is more Hollywood friendly. |

Does anyone know why Adam left Grammy show so early? The only info I can offer is that there was a post in Adamtopia the night of the Grammy's indicating Adam had left before Mick Jagger's performance and showed a blurry pic of Adam and Sauli and indicated that Adam was picking Sauli up at the airport. However, no subsequent pics or info indicate that this is true. |

I love Pink too. It along with FYE and Green Day are only the 2 or 3 Cds that I listen to the entire thing. I love her voice and the lyrics are sublime. I love Adam news, but I am always going to want to know who he is dating or fooling around with, or party he's attending. Can't help it. I like People magazine too. Scroll, like you do with a board. There is no law that says you have to read your entire feed. You can make an Adam news list; there are many platforms that allow muting, lists, blocking terms, etc. Though the news was the ET Canada snippet, where everything came from; it was all in play. Twitter can be extremely fun if you choose it to be so. If you don't want to, you can still get most news at a moments notice here. . I love Adam news, but I am always going to want to know who he is dating or fooling around with, or party he's attending. Can't help it. I like People magazine too. ...but that's news too I want to know that as well. the problem with the list is that the same person that does shipping might post news... so I have no idea how to separate those... |

cassie Since there is no master class thread, and we have a slow news day, I will ask you a question here. And since I do not play in the deep end very often, well, I prob deserve an answer!  I have been thinking about my obsession with "Soaked", and how it affects me. When I heard the song on my ipod today, I had it turned up full volume, and his breathing was very evident. (errmm, love to hear him breathe) :-[ It seems that he takes deep breaths (sigh) on this song more than on any other. Is this because it is harder to sing, is it some type of technique, or is there another reason? The version on my ipod is off ITunes, but not sure where it was recorded. From the album, perhaps? If you are still here, thanx in advance for humoring me. ET: Gaaah, just read your post. Should I save this question for the new thread? ??? I love to watch him breathe, too. From a vocalist's viewpoint, of course. I think there are several reasons we hear it in Soaked. First, it is a song with minimal instrumentals. Aftermath has only a guitar, but Monte plays the hell out of it, filling the song with sound. WWFM has several instruments backing. In Soaked,his voice is featured to the max intentionally. This is actually Adam's showpiece in the show, in my opinion. His statement that he can rock, he can provocatively kiss a guy, he can dance,he c an entertain, but, ultimately, he is a SINGER, and that is what he is most proud of, and most confident about. It's his voice at its most exposed. Secondly, yes, he has said that it is technically the hardest to sing. It contains long sustained phrases that require him to take those massive breaths. He really powers the notes, especially in the bridge (middle part --- and you've had enough, searching for love. Thirdly, it is stylistic. I think it adds to the angst and vulnerability of the song, just like a gesture or a look. Lastly, this is just my guess, but I suspect that he does it to show us "Yup, folks, I am really singing this --- LIVE. Not lipsyching, not enhanced. All this tone, all this power, all this phrasing is coming from ME." I recall reading Pink saying something about making her breaths audible at times to prove it is all her. As I have said before, Adam sometimes sounds so good, so polished, so right on that if I didn't know better, I would say the vocals live were not. He never runs out of breath and clips a phrase or interrupts it for a breath unnaturally. He always finishes the musical and lyrical phrase. He rarely sings off pitch. He is also a master at sneaking breaths to prepare for a power note or a sustain, and we don't even notice it. Frankly, I think Soaked is Adam showing off, vocally. And I love it! |

I was gonna jump in and discuss the direction of Album #2, Mr. Pink, rock vs angst etc. but ---- even Adam doesn't know what he is gonna end up with yet. So, I am just gonna nurse my fantasy of THE VOICE in the forefront of whatever he does and think very happy thoughts. Someone very kindly asked if we were going to resurrect the Vocal Masterclass and I am very pleased to say that Q3 has already made plans for it. Hope to be up and running soon, so start thinking of voice and technique stuff we can discuss. thank you, thank you! Especially that he is going in the VOICE direction - you have no idea how thrilled I am! I feel like he heard us, or may be he realised that the VOICE is HIM and the VOICE is what sets him apart from the general Pop vocal desert...he is the OASIS (I talked myself into silliness here :-[) hahaha, if he progresses this way - in five years or so - we'll have him in doing classical stuff ... I will not survive that probably.... but then he could turn and do rap... I am sure he'll keep us guessing... I actually ordered the German SW ; it was EUR 4 for the CD and EUR 14 for shipping... I am certifying myself BSC with no hope for cure... |
